Publishing an app to the Apple store is VERY hard. I tried applying to be an app developer on Apple's app store and it asked me for background information (like the colleges I went to, my course and other confusing stuff). Android's okay, it's (I believe) the leading mobile platform at the moment and it's still growing and actually, I had a friend on Twitter take a survey on who has an Android phone and we got a lot of responses. So, it's okay.
