That's what people say, but I don't think she made a conscious decision to further her social status over promoting her career. In a sense, any high-profile event or sighting IS promotion, and I have a feeling that her lack of promotion in the last few years had more to do with the label's commitment than Ciara herself.
We all know Jive is full of that ****ery, and I'm glad she got to her senses.
