But if it works for you, go for it!

She played a lead character and a lot of the promo was done by her, she was obviously a huge part of the film.

Rihanna has proven people wrong again & again. Every single era people say she's getting overexposed & will fade but she continues coming into the game a strong opponent. She's set. She could live through another underperforming era as well.
Ke$ha could have an easy time of transitioning into more mature topics. Her fanbase might grow up with her
My bet is on Katy.

If she is Top 10 in the US it's not going to take a whole lot more sales to enter the WW Top 10.
IWG failed to chart in the UK and was one of her lowest peaking singles in many other countries. TTWE didn't do much better outside of its first week.
And I am only talking about singles here. Out of the five artists mentioned she also has the lowest album sales.
|
How is that relevant to this discussion?
"Femme Fatale" hit the top 10 in 32 countries, #1 in 10 countries. "Hold It Against Me" hit the top 10 in 24 countries, #1 in 10 countries. "Till The World Ends" hit the top 10 in 20 countries, #1 in 2 countries. "I Wanna Go" hit the top 10 in 12 countries, #1 in 2 countries.
And "Femme Fatale" is at 1.5 million worldwide without promotion and still selling, without promotion. The other girls promoted their asses off, especially Katy and Gaga.

What was your answer in that thread where you could wish to remove someone from Earth?
Yes, your answer was Gaga.
Gaga haters are usually the most blinded, delusional and hateful of all haters.
So I will not take your answer seriously. Cute avatar though.

Basically, all she did was add her VOICE to an animated film, that requires little acting talent, anyone could have done that.

She may have peaked inside the top #10 but what about sales? I would say around 85% of IWG sales are from US and Korea. I would say around 75% of TTWE sales are from US.
And about the UK, I was just making a point. It is the 2nd biggest market though.
|
Yeah, sure you're not. And what is wrong with her selling great in the US, since you said:

That doesn't change that if her name wasn't in the credits, it wouldn't have been as big.
I don't understand how hard that is to grasp.

"Bleeding Love" hit #1 in 17 countries; "Rolling in the Deep" hit #1 in 9 countries. She was a one-hit wonder though.

She is still here.......outselling 2 girls(from this list) latest albums with her magaflop album ( Echo)with just one worldwide flop single released( Happy)
One hit wonder in US maybe.../ Better in time #11, Happy #31, I will be& Run top100 on Billboard, Collide #1 on dance chart/ but worldwide no.......Better in time and Happy were decent hits......
And dont forget Run...amazing chart run in one of the top4 music markets in the world- Germany...in top10 longest charting songs ever at #9 with 82 weeks....
etc etc.....Leona is still here even though she has big problems with her label....
And about this girls....dont know....maybe Katy.....or Gaga...I must say that i enjoy in Gaga's decrease with this last era..............

Uhh, Beyonce's "impact" hasn't been as big, ****, not even half as big as Britney & Madonna when it comes to pop culture, there HASN'T been a female pop star this culturally big since Britney and that's just a fact. So yes, Gaga is as big as the other legends.

Katy Perry did not make the Smurfs movie. She was a voice, I doubt any of the general public saw it because Katy was in it.

First of all Usher is local. Confessions was his rise to Fame. 50% of his discography has underperformed. Beyoncé just hit a bump 10 years into her career. 4 will outsold both HIS & RvsR on a WORLDWIDE scale which matters. 4 will outsell that Versus EP that aint moving any units either, KI.
As far as irrelevancy goes Usher will hit that road before Bey.

Gurl, bye. Anyone in this world could play her character, the one who pushed Smurfs isn't her or any of its actors, it's the studio who promotes the **** out of movies. Sony have a lot of money and infrastructures to advertise the **** out of the movie, from their TV shops to PSN. Trying to believe that a Katy Perry made the movie. Hilarious! Kids don't read twitter or facebook, child.
