I don't think she'll necessarily pull a complete Rated R. I just think next album will be a little more darker and a little less bubblegum. She can be dark and sexy at the same time (i.e. the Purr photoshoot).
6 mature dark electro pop sofa like ET
3 soft ballads like Not Like The Movies or ToY
3 bubble gum pop songs like California Gurls
And couple soft cute songs like TOTGA.

I don't think her next album should be that formulaic. I think she just needs to trust her instincts and sing songs that reflect what she's feeling/thinking.

I was thinking she should do like a toy box theme. She could dress up like a doll in a box, a picture of her around giant Teddy bears, her covered in paint, her as a jack in the box etc.

I think she needs to change her image somewhat... "dark" isn't really who Katy is but I feel like this overused candy theme just makes people take her less seriously. She needs to find a balance for the next era, imo.

I think you're right, but I like this era with the candy and those things but she needs somehing more serious, she's 26 years old and she is ready for a dark-sexy era but she can still having fun
