I think the remix was supposed to be their answer if ever MLJ continued to drop..Adam and Xtina's new vocals were quickly recorded right after they shot the music video (at that time MLJ already dropped as low as #40 on iTunes), so maybe the label thought it might not be able to recover and be back to #1. They were obviously wrong because the song caught like fire and made a remarkable return to #1 without music video and promo, until M5 performed on AGT and pushed it to #1 and the MV dropping after.

Now, the remix could give the song an additional 2-4 weeks life from its normal life span, IMO, especially that it it already taking off on Rhythmic and is still unstoppable on Pop, Hot AC and even AC.

Not really. They wanted to release HIAM in february, it was already dead by that time. People would be more inclined to buy it when it first comes out then they would weeks after it was released. HIAM was released on a wednesday if i remember correctly, and sales tracking in the uk starts on sunday, she debuted at #6 with only 4 days of sales which isn't that bad at all.

It would've flopped harder if it was released later. The uk release date for We found love is just ridiculous.
