The order and date of the singles released has nothing to do with the album's release. Not all the singles released before the album are "lead singles"

"Edge" only came together as a full-fledged single at the same time as/after the album's release. "WMN" came out only a week or so before the album, too.

In Korea there's usually only 1 single from albums. Japan is the country where they release a bunch of singles then the album. You tried it, though, and made yourself look like a damn fool who is ignorant about non-American things.

As I said before, there's clearly a split side of thought. And I do think the proper term is "lead-in", as it is literally leading into the album's release. But the lead single is like the one leading the project/era/album - as the first. Both sides have their flaws, as we can see. :chick:
