Not to be rude, but I've never read something so stupid. The lead single is the first single of an album. You know leader = ahead = first? If a second single is released, that would be dubbed the current single. With your logic, "Circus", "Edge of Glory", "What's My Name?", "Till The World Ends", "Ring The Alarm", other countless follow-up singles released before an album would be "lead" singles. And that looks and sounds retarded.

I've heard of this before. Bart told me that "lead" is considered the one directly before the album. Like, "Doesn't Really Matter" was the first single from
All for You, but "All for You" was the lead single.
I think it gets a little screwy when they're cut so close to the albums like that. "Circus" was paired with the album release. "The Edge of Glory" was supposed to be a countdown promo single; I would say that "Judas" was, sadly, more of the lead single from BTW, if we're gonna get technical. "Edge" only came together as a full-fledged single at the same time as/after the album's release. "WMN" came out only a week or so before the album, too.
