Being a big star isn't only about what you're accomplishing today. Beyonce has a lot of chart & award accomplishments behind her. She took some risks with "4." The album isn't a smash but that doesn't mean she's not a big star anymore. Do you think Katy's singles will do as well as they are if she ever takes a risk?

Oh please! Even this year (without holiday sales) Rihanna has sold 1,2M albums more than beyonce. And please consider the fact that it already sold 2M in 2010. And please don't act like it is our fault that beyonce has had no hit! That just means she is Flopping.
Without the Us she would never reach the 1M sales WW. And consider the fact that "4" is freefalling everywhere (besides US).

Maybe if Beyonce's risky album was successful like Gaga's was, then I would be inclined to believe.
I am not trying to discredit her previous work, but the title of this thread is "Is Rihanna the biggest Popstar in the world right now?" Right now Beyonce is not that big, at the very least not nearly as big as she was in the past. Hopefully she rebound with her next album, but seeing how she is pregnant it might be awhile till we get a new album.

US is the biggest Music mark so no argument here
Maybe Beyonce could release another album in 9 months because 4 didn't cut with mainstream and follow the trends that SEEMS to work doesn't it?

She is the biggest star in the world with no doubt. Okay USA is going with Adele and Lady GaGa but im in Europe everyone is talking about Rihanna, every clubs are playing her songs. I never heard Judas or The Edge of Glory in here. But S&M, Only Girl, Who's That Chick, What's My Name, Love the Way You Lie i heard all of them. Im sorry but GaGa is not the biggest pop star in the world.
I saw someone is trying to compare Rihanna with Beyonce. Im sorry but no one knows " 4" in here. I never heard Run the World, Best Thing I Never Had, 1+1 etc in Europe. Im sorry bitches. You all wil deal with it.

Well, usually current success is somewhat a result of past success. TBH I don't think Born This Way or 4 would have done nearly as well if they were the first albums. And if Katy had massive albums like The Fame/monster and I Am Sasha Fierce ... then Teenage Dream would have sold better. I predict that Katy's next album will not only have a much higher first week sales, but also much greater overall album sales.

I'm sorry but GaGa's singles are not as good as old singles. I mean Rihanna is giving a lots of dancy songs, emotional songs. You can play them everywhere. Im just saying what im seeing.
