I'd say since "Hey There Delilah" dominated. Some people would say "Big Girls Don't Cry," but even that wasn't as stripped down as SLY or HTD.

While TT does sound similar to SLY, I don't think it's enough of a similarity. I also think TT has that same amount of appeal and polish as RITD, SLY and Set Fire to the Rain does.

A little off topic but I heard Adele talking about her new album and that she wanted it to have country and bluegrass elements in it. Consider me excited because I think Bluegrass elements would definetly enhance her music and help her evolve musically instead of stagnating. I've heard non-Adele fans say they think she will dissapear/not be popular after 21.
