If an artist has to stand up and point out all the symbolism in the work to you, it's bad art. Symbolism HAS to speak for itself by it's very definition.


There's also the whole matter that pop music is shallow and a lot of the time things that aren't actually symbolism for anything are thrown into videos to make an artist seem deeper than they are.

I don't believe it exists, but I find the conspiracy theory wonderful and wacky, hence my username.

In truth, the "illuminati" story is a cover up used by people who would rather not face the more depressing but realistic truth: our world is run by people who are motivated not by occult teachings but greed and selfishness and a desire to keep the upper class as high away from the lower class as possible. Simple as.

The rest is just people trying to find connections in the mundane aspects of every day life (artwork, Disney movies, pop songs). It's called "apophenia" and it's a very common psychological habit in one way or another to every single person. No different from someone believing they have a lucky number... or thinking they saw a religious symbol in a piece of food.
