What else would Adele be considered? Just because she doesn't make dance-pop music doesn't mean she isn't "pop," which could mean many things. Now if you are talking about a certain type of pop artist, then I guess you could say that GaGa "properly" put out a ballad. But even Rihanna had a hit ballad or two once upon a time.

Well, I see. When I think about "pop music," I do think about upbeat dance songs. I don't even know what Adele would be considered. I guess "pop" has a wide definition.

Me too. I hope they can pull a "Fireflies" (edit ) and hit #1 eventually, 4 million+ sold. Their weekly sales are phenomenal for little live promotion.
