Bad Romance has some SOARING vocals. I LOVE to listen to it really loud or with my nicer headphones because it's just such an enveloping experience. I think it's well-deserving of that distinction. It's actually amazing, because the production of the song is certainly a sonic assault, but her vocals completely REIGN over the production. Her voice soars over the dense production and does all of the right things.

It was quite simply the best female pop vocal performance of the year. Her vocals are amazing, especially on the chorus and final epic bridge/climax.
I think the song is great, what surprises me is that a Pop Dance song managed to win a grammy award that only pure vocalist bitches or Beyonce can win! It was very surprising for me when i find out that she won! I'd let a tear drop!
I never said anything about BTW and EU, so I don't get why you're even saying that.
Most people only think they sound alike because other people told them it did. Most of the people who jumped on that bandwagon didn't even know what EU was before BTW came out.
It's funny because I was just getting into Like a Prayer just a little bit right before it came out (then came a madonna obsession that has recently let up), and I couldn't believe that people thought it sounded REMOTELY like Express Yourself.
I keep waiting for lady gaga to do something productive for society. And all she does is change her sex from a boy to a girl then play dress up as a boy again. Cool.

I was curious what you and your friends have contributed to the world - or even America - that you consider productive. Or creative. Or significant to the good of man. What does she have to do to receive less than your disdain?

due to mass amounts of criticism, i would like to revise my previous statement about gaga. if these comments are going to be taken so literally, what i really meant was that in my opinion, lady gaga is a horrible horrible artist, and i hate her music because i don't think it's good. i also think the things she wears are stupid. really stupid. that's all.
What do you mean? I can agree BR and J are similar, but I never even thought of BTW sounding like EU, which is weird because the month before BTW came out, I was obsessed with the LAP album.
YES, the hooks are the biggest part I hear, but I think the only thing similar about the choruses are how they're delivered. I don't think they sound similar, though.
Judas' verses and breakdown > BR's verses and breakdown
BR's chorus and hook > Judas' chorus and hook
Also the "ooooooh I'm in love with Judas" and "oooooooh caught in a Bad Romance" have similar notes. The choruses are similar in that that they both have lines that are essentially repeated twice (I'm just a holy fool, oh baby it's so cruel but I'm still in love with Judas, baby" and "I want your love and I want your revenge you and me could write a bad romance") and the second time one note is raised up a half note I think (on "Jud-" and "bad")...not sure if I'm making any sense, but anyway I do find a lot of similarities in the song. I like Bad Romance better overall, but I love Judas' lyrics and breakdown. I think Judas will sound pretty epic live.
Well with Katy Perry I always get the sense I'm watching a cutesy pop girl.
The magnificent first 30 seconds of Poker Face introduce an electrifying, mysterious, glamorous woman (even though she was what, 22 when it was shot?).

I can't believe that 30 sec have brought you this far.

That's what I was saying about how they're delivered, but I think that's about it for the choruses. At the beginning, I found myself singing BR at the beginning of Judas. Maybe my ears have been assaulted by Judas so much that I no longer hear the similarities.
