Avril Lavigne - New interview with German press
Translation below, Avrils answers in bold:
Maybe we can even talk only about the new album.
Yes, it is the deepest and most honest album I've ever written. I wanted to see what I can and I wanted it revolves around my feelings and how they interact with the music and singing. My accompanying tour is called "Black Star". At the moment I am traveling in South America, but in September I get to Europe.
And what is the main song from the new album?
I like the song "Goodbye" because it is the most honest and most emotional song I ever wrote.
Your new album includes songs from older albums. Why?
I always had songs left over from previous albums and wanted to use them later. This time theyhave made it.
For whom did you sing "I Love You" written?
Oh, I will not say the name. laughs
What are the pros and cons are in the music business?
It's funny, because you can live out the artist in you and can give as you want. In the music business you can take the liberty to do so. I find that very pleasant. Of course it is also hard work, with which to grow every day. It is really hard and it takes a lot of personal commitment for it.
Has it helped you grow up?
I've definitely learned a lot from the experience I gained in this life. I travel around the world, get to know foreign cultures and languages: This has taught me so much!
Many fans are surprised that you were rocking before and are now switching to pop. How did this happen?
I do not want to again and again produce the same album. I have previously done a lot with loud music, drums, guitar and more aggressive music. I'm just quiet and emotional develop to become the new album to me.
You were at the beginning of your career, a rebel and now you have become so respectable, as you would never be.
I do not plan something. I am who I am. I always was myself and think about such a development does not really. This is a natural way. I've recently launched my own clothing line. It's called Abbey Dawn and it's young rock and roll fashion.
And what is the idea behind Abbey Dawn?
It was the nickname of my father when I grew up. In addition, I have called my friends at school and I think the name Abbey is right for me and my music is different from the clothes I design there. I have this line of clothing for three years now.
What can we expect from the tour?
The "Black Star" tour is a mix of new songs, old hits and all of my singles. We play so many pop-rock songs, but also many of the new album. The show has its rock out moments, but also those where you can let yourself go with the music to come down again.
Is there a difference between the German public and in your home country?
Yes, the Europeans are very free, expressive and joyful like to have fun. The audience is always great because they love music and like to spin at concerts.
And whatever you may have about Germany?
I was often there and it's always a pleasure to come back.
Would you like to say a few words to the German fans?
Thank you for supporting my music. I am so excited on the 19th September to come to Cologne and look forward to the "Black Star" tour to Germany to bring. I am glad to see you there.
