The way I see it, Britney is only 29. This is just one of many tributes to Britney Spears at the VMAs in the coming years. It's not like she's retiring from music/struggling to have a hit song, all of her songs this era have smashed. So yeah, don't be too upset, and at least the performance was better than Selena Gomez or Katy Perry attempting to sing one of her hits as a "tribute." Having GaGa/Jo talk about how much Britney influenced her was much more poignant than anything else MTV could have come up with, and the dance routine was super cool, especially with all the different costumes from each era so far. I had almost forgotten how iconic all her music videos are!
I thought it was great having GaGa and Britney share the stage and look like they were having an amazing time together.
