Like summer's end, MTV's 2011 Video Music Awards are fast approaching. If the show's 26-year legacy is any indication, we're in for superstar collabs and elaborate sets come Sunday (Aug. 28). To celebrate the annual MTV spectacular, we asked Billboard.com readers to pick the best performances in VMA history -- and not surprisingly, pop megastars including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga came out on top of the tally. Read on to find out where they ranked, and relive all the showstopping performances.
4. Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera; 2003
"Like A Virgin"/"Hollywood"
The Madonna-Britney kiss! Could we talk about anything else the day after the 2003 VMAs? And poor Christina, the camera cutting away as her and Madge lip-locked. The memorable medley kicked off with Britney and Christina Aguilera paying homage to Madonna's infamous "Like a Virgin" performance at the 1984 VMAs, topped off with Madonna -- dressed as a groom -- performing "Hollywood." But let's be real, the kiss was all that really mattered to the masses.
2. Britney Spears, 2001
"I'm A Slave 4 U"
All sexy and grown-up, Britney busted out in a big way at the 2001 VMAs, channeling the sauna vibe of her "I'm A Slave 4 U" video with a jungle-themed performance. Coincidentally, she also channeled the very un-sexy Jack Hanna, sauntering around with a bright yellow boa constrictor around her neck.
1. Michael Jackson, 1995
Medley
Michael Jackson proved, yet again, just why he's the King of Pop at the '95 show. Not only did he give MTV viewers a 10-minute medley of many of his biggest hits; he did it with on-stage costume changes, Moonwalking, Slash shredding on guitar, dance-fighting, enough crotch-grabbing for the whole of the '90s, and a speech in the middle to boot. Such was the awesome power of the memory of this spectacular MJ performance that Billboard.com was inundated with thousands and thousands and thousands of fans voting for this 16 year old moment.

Britney was just fat and pounded with makeup (that was actually done right for once). She has been trying to talk low, and she still kind of does. I don't know why, but she's been doing it the whole era except during the Jimmy Kimmel skits. Which doesn't make sense that her voice would be low like the documentary during the radio interviews only for her to have her normal voice back during the Jimmy Kimmel skits.
LFRRRRRRRR, I think she was doing it on porpouse! I seriously thought it was so funny how she sounded so sick and she was not that fat! She was just a little dressed in a very no no way! And the way she put her head like down made her look fat, but in general she wasnt.
I'm always late for this type of **** but i don't know if this has been posted. The official BMG site added "Trouble For Me" as one of their featured songs: http://www.bmg.com/
There are rumours that she's recording a video for it in England on October.
