It doesn't have that "oh hell no, I won't let you get away with cheating on me" appeal that a lot of hit ballads use to get younger people to relate to them. Even RITD did that. It makes them more universal. Y+I is such a personal song.
Another example: Rihanna's Take A Bow.
Oh and the guitar solo is easily the best part.
If anything blocks Y&I, I hope it's SLY and not Cheers.
