Judas is essentially classic Gaga: dance pop with the signature catchy hooks she does. Its everything why people got hooked onto Gaga in the first place. A shame it was rush released and then shunned

I think 'Marry the Night' should have been the first single off of BTW. Even with all the success of the BTW single, especially worldwide, MTN seems to be the best combination of the sounds of TFM and BTW (thanks to Garibay I guess). Would have made the transition to BTW much smoother in my eyes.

I feel like it's obvious at this point that Born This Way was INDEED the correct first single choice.

No one can even ****ing agree on what song should be released at all now, and Born This Way remains much more successful than the other songs on the album so far, critically and commercially.

Exactly. Born This Way represents the message and the new/different sound. The only choice for the lead single imo.

But I think that with MTN as first single, now we were here counting those 5x Platinum.

BTW was the correct first single though but I can see more longevity with MTN, maybe I'm wrong.

Psh, let's be honest. NOTHING was going to have longevity with that launch. When you reach 100M AI in one week, it's just not going to work like that. Despite that, Born This Way held up great considering it essentially EXPLODED, fell off the face of the earth and returned all within the time span of a month.

Oh, I'm extremely happy Born This Way was picked on a personal level. I just think MTN might have set the tone of this era much more effectively. It has the club hammering beats, the church sounds, and still could have been a single on TFM which I think is important.
