To put things into perspective, with under a day left to add any songs, 494/1205 stations have made their adds. Generally, it doesn't have anything to do with stations supporting her or whatever, some simply add before others.
Overall Adds
All Formats (494 of 1205 Reporting) (41.0%)
# of Adds
All Formats Artist Title
61 LADY ANTEBELLUM We Owned The Night
34 ERIC CHURCH Drink In My Hand
31 LADY GAGA You And I
Top 40 Adds
Top 40 (41 of 159 Reporting) (25.8%) IN | NOT IN
# of Adds
In Formats Artist Title
15 LADY GAGA You And I
9 DEV In The Dark
8 JASON DERULO It Girl
Hot AC Adds
Hot AC (55 of 96 Reporting) (57.3%) IN | NOT IN
# of Adds
In Formats Artist Title
13 ADELE Someone Like You
11 LADY GAGA You And I
7 SIMPLE PLAN Jet Lag f/Natasha Bedingfield
If this information helps, great If it confused you more... Basically, some add earlier than others. As you can see, there's still a lot of Top 40 stations to add songs, while over half of the Hot AC ones have made their decisions. But, as Top 40 is the biggest format (and for Gaga in particular), I think we'll see a big increase tomorrow. I'd like to see her get over 50 adds this week.

Performances, videos, they're all designed to promote the song and get it as much attention as possible. The same techniques are used for both.

That isn't true at all. Bad Romance wasn't #1 in the UK until after her X Factor performance. Even the video only sent it to #5. BR wasn't a commercial song at the time.

My taste is mature enogh i love Speechless,i love Imagine, I love Let it Be those are the type of songs that You and I tries to look like sadly the song is not that great and is just my opinion, I love love commercial music and all kind of music, not only dance pop to be honest, is just a matter of taste and is just my perspective, and i think she should had released Speechless at least that was a good song, with an even more beautiful message and lyrics, You and I is a try to go country song, and once again is just my opinion!

That doesn't make it commercial. To release a 5minute song with relatively dark lyrics and a production like Bad Romance's wasn't commercial. It did well because it caught on.

The BR video was great. It didn't feel like a stunt. It felt like an amazing effort by people at the peak of their powers. Great way to give attention to the song.
Arriving at the VMAs in a giant sperm is a stunt. That's what were were talking about. Tacky way to give attention to your music.

Hmmm, no, not really
It's more commercial than, for example, Judas, Americano, Government Hooker, Bloody Mary...

I know it's more commercial than those.
As a simple country/rock love ballad, You+I doesn't sound so risky.
But released by a popstar who not too long ago put out electropop dance songs about being drunk in the club, it's a HUGE risk.

Sounds to me like you said the song is boring to the public, and needs stunts to get their attention. Now you're saying it needs stunts "b/c that's who she is as an entertainer." Which is it? Make up your mind.
And of course I complain when I don't like something. What's wrong w/ that? Should I pretend I like it?

What I said coincides with what I said...
Her stunts are what she needs and it's what she does because she's an entertainer, lmao. All pop acts have stunts. MJ, Madonna, even some of Gaga's contemporaries now all go big and do what they can to draw attention to themselves.
Except, you complain about things that are unnecessary. Like, with the Y&I video. You couldn't say something nice, so you had to bitch about how she needed a steady hand to pull everything together. It's like you can't admit that you were wrong about the Y&I video being a mess. You think by complaining it makes you look like an "intelligent Gaga fan" when it actually makes you look like a bitter mess who's mad that she went from The Fame Monster to Born This Way.
You're going to have to come to terms with the fact that we're not going to get another Bad Romance. Gaga is no longer new, so it's not going to happen any time soon, if ever. It's very hard to top the thing that made you a cultural phenomenon. I know you want her to go back to her TFM days with professional directors, but it's not what she wants. Either accept that or jump off the bandwagon because your incessant bitching about LITERALLY everything does nothing but bring other people down.

Yet there were still people at the time whining about how it was "so random" and "didn't make any sense" and "why can't she just deliver a regular pop video with clear ideas wsadadfkajdsflk *slits wrists*"
Obviously I agree that I'd rather her do something really visually interesting and noteworthy than not.

Not for the rest of her career, i want her to evolve yes, but look at this mess of era you can not come here and pretend everything is alright, please, the problem with some monsters is that they became fans when Born This Way came out, i was here since 2008 and i saw the rise of Lady GaGa i know how great she can be, and i know how great her videos and visuals, performances can be, this era is a shame compared with The Fame and The Fame Monster era, i love GaGa and don't get me wrong I'm one of those fans who wants the old GaGa back, I love Born This Way album and i think is better than the previous albums, i want her to evolve but in a progressive and smart way is TOO soon to change your style like this she is in her 3rd album and already going country when 2 year ago she gave us 7 pop dance singles, she still have to play safe in some way, SHE IS A POP STAR, something some people forget, she needs to play her cards right because sadly right now the general public is playing a poker face at her, not only the fans are going to keep her going, she needs both, and that's the reasong why her singles are underperforming for her own standards with the exception of the first single this era, the album is doing great, because is great album, the problem is that they choose bad singles at least as the introduction, you think the following singles are going to do great!? there might be something wrong because the album was released 6 months ago and we are already on the 4th single think about it!

It reminds me of how when TFM came out, everyone thought it sucked 'cause it was so different, but now that BTW is out, TFM is a masterpiece and BTW sucks.

You're not telling me anything I don't know. I know Madonna ate out guys' asses in her "shocking" photobook and I know MJ practically tore his penis off while performing.
You said the public will find the song boring and it needs stunts. I replied that she should then release music that the public doesn't find boring so the music can stand on its own, stunt-free. Period.
The rest is none of your business. BR is not even my favorite thing she's done. I don't like the You+I video. I will continue to discuss her and complain as I please. Put me on ignore if you don't like it.

How are people saying "You and I" is commercial?
The song itself may be slightly commercial but when it is released to POP radio by LADY GAGA during the dance pop era, it's not a commercial option at all.
