No one said she needs to. She wants to because she wants to grow as an artist and she wants to be able to rely on herself. People wrongly confuse that for her having an ego when it's not that at all.

No, I get your point, it's just that your point doesn't make sense. Gaga and the other actors are who convey the plots in the videos. The director is there to direct and make sure things go according to plan. And I totally understand that a professional director would have lots to bring to the table, but Gaga has proven herself with Judas and You and I. Some fans are SO focused on a professional director that they will talk down on anything Gaga does because she directed it.

It's an even bigger slap in the face for a director to say, "I don't collaborate. It's my vision or no vision." Gaga hired Kahn 'cause she knew he could bring something great to the production. However, he didn't, so she fired him. An artist, like Gaga, does not hire people to do the work for them. That is what Gaga's contemporaries do. What sets Gaga apart is the control she has over her career. Sometimes I swear it's like you guys want her to be Katy Perry just so she'll put out fun videos you can brag about.

LMFAO, you fail to realize that that is part of the production. She's not doing it because her music can't stand on its own two feet, she does it because it's part of being an entertainer. Gaga has said time-and-time again that she doesn't try to "out do" herself or that she's not concerned with that. Gaga is the type of performer that will bomb the stage because she can and because that's part of the act. She is not Adele or anyone else, she is Lady Gaga and that is what people want.
Oh wait, I forgot, you complain every time you don't get what you want, so strike what I said.
