The obvious advantage of working with professionals isn't even that they would "elevate" her work, it's that working with them teachers her a lot about how to approach directing. Y&I certainly shows a progression in skill, even if it is plagued by some of the same problems as the other two videos.

She's an artist and she wants to try lots of things. She's beat that into everyone's head, so just let her do it. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, as much as I may want a Francis Lawrence video for MTN or a Quentin Tarantino one from HML + EC.

Hasn't she co-directed with Laurie Ann? Why not co-direct with someone experienced like Francis Lawrence? She can kill two birds with one stone: get acclaim for an epic video and learn from the best (who has directed personally, her best video to date).

That would be foolish. They don't measure up to her best work. Who knows what different directors could get out of her. I'm still surprised that her team hasn't paired her with someone like Sophia Coppola for a video.
