Re-releases count, remember when Firework? There was a list of Female Albums with 3 ·1's or more, GGGB-R was included by billboard
I feel like they don't want to waste more money on promo and stuff on more 'Teenage Dream' singles. If Rihanna couldn't perform S&M live due to it's raunchy nature idk what will happen with Peacock
I have the same feeling.It's kinda shame because Peacock could really smash WW.
But Peacock is risky and it would probably need a good remix to sell and promo so I think they're going with re-release single. That's the easiest way to break record .

Because Capitol is very aware of the fact that all "#1 smashes" are gone, and they aren't just releasing a song just because, it must go #1, and a re-release EP isn't being planned as of now so it's a toughie.

Consciously lowering personal expectations is a pretty common coping mechanism, I know I do it all the time. I don't think Sammi's trying to be strategic with it or anything. She just doesn't want to set herself up for disappointment.

I support another single, but I think I don't want re-release, especially not if there's gonna be only 2 or 3 songs on it (we already have Part of Me, and Dressin Up is probably going to leak). Katy said she doesn't want to record new songs for re-release.
For the new single, I think it would be good to choose Circle The Drain or Not Like The Movies. All of her singles from TD era were strongly pop and dance-pop and now she should try something different. These two songs are the best options imo. They won't go #1 but they can go in Top 20 or 15. It's not important anymore.
If they want to keep/break that record they will have no other choice than re-release since Rihanna is already planning re-release and could easily get few more #1's and break Katy's/Jackson record. Oh well
