If anything, Katy Perry is more like a Cyndi Lauper than Gaga.

Katy Perry is to Lady Gaga as Cyndi Lauper is to Madonna. I'm sure others would agree.

"California Gurls" did extremely well worldwide, but that was last year.

It's not as if the other singles did badly worldwide, but they paled in comparison and didn't make enough global impact to help her album sales.

Besides, if her singles smashed as hard as they did in the US on a worldwide level, then she would sell PLENTY more albums. Unfortunately, as far as the global sales are concerned, Teenage Dream isn't holding up that well considering her singles have **** on everyone else's this year.

Key word: 2010 "California Gurls" was the top song of 2010 worldwide. LTWYL outsold it later in 2011.

Tik Tok and Bad Romance were bigger hits but they are from 2009 and obviously sales were splitted.
