The Edge of Glory may have disappointed in both the sales and the video department; however, the song did have a solid run (especially following Judas "The Flop" and the fact that TEOG was a promo single that was rushed released (and then the album was released)).
I think it's more or less the momentum that is going to be the ultimate factor that makes this song a hit. Not only is it the momentum, but the promo that the song will undoubtedly get, along with the fact that the video isn't boring (and sticks true to GaGa videos, coming off as "nonsense").
I'm kind of glad she released this song at this point in the era as an afterthought.
If this song becomes successful as I think it might, it'll put her next single (dear god I hope it's Marry The Night) at a very good position. With the pop/HAC/AC panels loving GaGa again, and with it being early/late 4th quarter, her sales for her next single (assuming it'll be a hit and Marry The Night) should be much better along with the airplay. I hope it'll put her to unprecedented success (for this era).

I've actually been looking at it this way too. I want You and I to be a great radio success. The Edge of Glory did great, even though not spectacular, and another great single that's different like You and should put some renewed faith in her as a radio artist, especially if it breaks into different formats. The important thing will be the winter single and honestly, it needs to be Marry The Night. I understand a lot of people want Scheisse, but I really think it should wait until next year.

Okay, so I initially wanted MTN 4th for Fall & You & I for Winter. Clearly, that's not how it went.
Basically, she's just switching the order I wanted MTN/Y&I. Now that Y&I is 4th, MTN is by far the most logical choice for 5th single.
5TH SINGLE - MARRY THE WINTER (WINTER)
6TH SINGLE - SCHEISSE (SPRING)
7TH SINGLE - BAD KIDS (SUMMER)
I want her to release Bad Kids to see how it does.

Agreed.
Scheisse is a great song, but risky. Furthermore, I honestly don't understand why you would want a song like Scheisse for WINTER. That hot track is screaming to be released in the SPRING just in time for SPRING BREAK. 
But really, Marry The Night will end the year off quite well, and continue through the next year. Then she can release the risky(hit???) Scheisse.
Then she can go super vulgar with Heavy Metal Lovers.
(I would hope she would end it after HML if that's what she did though, tbh).
But that's a bit too far into the future (but that's what I want).

I think Bad Kids would do a lot better than a lot of fan favorites (despite the delusion).
Americano is not going to smash any charts besides bubbling under. 
Bloody Mary, despite being a masterpiece, will suffer from brother track, "Judas."
Government Hooker would do the worst out of this group (despite being really good).

I can't remember if I said this earlier, but watching the video for You and I really made me appreciate the fact that the song is a single, and it made me get more into the song. The video is really one of my favorites, and I find the ploy one of the easiest to understand that she's ever done.
I showed my friend the video earlier, and she loved it, lol.

Americano would probably not work. Something about it doesn't scream HIT to me. It's a bit too-shouty for radio. I agree about Bloody Mary.
Summer 2012 single should be Bad Kids, but if not BK... then I want Government Hooker. Both are a risk for her.
Hair should never be released. I love it but it's too cheesy & people would find it ridiculous.

There was a time when I wanted her to make EC a single, but then I got a bit bored of the song.
I think the burn-out rate for that song is too high for it to be seriously considered as a single.

Well, see, for me, lol. If she doesn't release HML or Bad Kids, I really want her to release HU (R2L).
It's a really cute song. I think if anything, it would make a fun/cute video.
Americano is truly a bunch of noise to me. I also don't want her to become a laughing stock; therefore, I don't want her to release Hair at all.
However, if they made the remix the speed of GF, I'd take that as a single. (jokes of course, but really, the remix is so much better).

I used to be in LOVE with Bloody Mary, but I don't know, it doesn't do it for me as much these days.
The only potential smashes left on the album are Schiesse and MTN. But in my dreams EC and HU will be singles.
