I'm not serious, but even if I were serious, there's never a reason that emotes should be such a big issue.
The idea that anyone could get so riled up over another member receiving a personalized smiley, well, it's just laughable. Smilies just sort of happen, and while it's true that most of the member specific emotes belong to members who have been around a long time, or members who have contributed greatly to the site, there's no guarantee that because you are active or have some sort of seniority a smiley will be added in your
honor. (I say that as though anyone is actually silly enough to feel honored by something so trivial, but apparently it's a big issue to some.)
