Am I the only one hoping for a non-over the top VMA performance? This is a chance to do a really killer You & I performance showing off her vocals, no gimmicks, no lame choreography.
We've already seen the affect performances like this can have, like Adele's Someone Like You performance at the Brits.
Then she can go back to the weird stuff at the Grammy's with Marry The Night/Scheiße.

I'm sorry but she's not Adele. If she stop doing weird things now, people will complain that she is running out of idea.
That's how people think Gaga is, and it shouldn't change much.
She can do it once in a while, but i think for TEOG she's been holding herself. So i don't mind she unleashes her usual killing style at VMA

Gimmicks or vocals only, I hope for an amazing performance.
I don't want the "You and I era" to be "shocking" but just flawless, classy and vocally perfect...
(and I don't want a shocking video tbh, just amazing and iconic)

I just want Jo to rock the piano. Dressing as a man will be enough for the shock department, and it can still be kept classy.

I doubt she'll release the video that late..I think they drop the video ~1 week before the VMAs to make Yoü And I top 10...Then a week later a nice performance and it may go #1..I'm just not happy with the radio adds date:-/

If Gaga had gone on tour with Kanye,
BTW probably wouldn't exist and we would have a more Urban Gaga & a full HQ Out of Control.

I was thinking of that the other day.
I am really happy that Kanye/Gaga tour never happened!

Why!?!?!
Out of Controls snippet is better than half of Born This Way!
And im sure they would have done a colab that would have slayed everything and become such a smash

Gaga is no Adele. People have high expectations in Gaga, if those expectations aren't fulfilled, people will be disappointed, leading them not to buy the single. Simple as that. Of course if she sits at a piano and simply sings the song, it will reach another public, but I'm here for a performance that combines both flawless vocals and a theatrical performancer with a killer stage. So to speak, the follow-up to the Paparazzi performance at the VMAs.

THIS. People were disappointed with her Grammy Performance because it was 'too simple' and she hatched out of a friggen egg onstage. People expect the unexpected when it comes to Gaga and they want everything to be flashy/in your face.

Gurls, I just watched the Alejandro vid for the first time in ages......
It is so underrated!!!!! I can't believe that people hated it... I think it has such consistent artistic direction that it is just flawless, maybe a tad long (but this is typical for quite a few Gaga vids).....
Just thought I would share this revelation.
