I can see Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver winning (not a tie but both having chances) Best New Artist and also nominees for Album of The Year; but it can also be some unknown talent. This year most people was rooting for Florence or Drake to win.

That's not true. Look at that lineup, and most pundits believed that the race was between Zac Brown Band and Keri Hilson. She definitely had a chance, but they ultimately went with the safe, more conservative choice - Zac Brown Band.

Exactly. Without Kanye n Ne-Yo she wouldn't even be thought of being nominated. Nicki did a lot of features but has made more of a name for herself than Keri ever has or will.

I don't remember Zac Brown Band getting much play outside of country radio, which is where most of their sales came from. So, I wouldn't say they had more impact. Keri was all over pop radio, even if her sales weren't there. Zac Brown Band won simply because they were conservative, played instruments and had the Country bloc voting for them.

And when does the Grammys EVER go with the artists that made the most impact? I think Carrie Underwood was the last artist to truly win when she was the most popular artists out of the bunch or at least had equal impact to other nominees that year. Nicki, no matter how much impact she has made, will probably lose out on Best New Artist. Mark my words. As someone stated, Hip Hop is the outcast in the general field. There is NO one frontrunner here.

She was nominated and won a Grammy. The rules were changed after the Lauryn Hill win.
