LOL, BOMT isn't legendary. The only reason it's so "iconic" it's because it was Britney's first and most successful single to date. I still think it's overrated though. But that's just my opinion.

Oh My God... tell me you didn't just call BOMT "no legendary"

Let me take you flops back in time to the GUD 1998, boo boo! Britney was new to the scene and director, Nigel Dick along with Jive had some FLOP concept that Britney just knew would have her laughed right out of the industry. The queen being the creative innovator that she is, came up with the concept for the BOMT video including the outfit. Little did she know, she would change the music landscape FOREVER! At the age of 16 years old, Britney boldly pushed the boundaries of a naughty school girl by showing some heavy cleavage and dancing sexily to a intricate dance routine.
The impact that the ...Baby One More Time music video had on the world is untouchable and is right up there with Thriller and Vogue as one of the most legendary and memorable music videos of all time. My freaking grandparents in their 80's still remember Britney's debut music video. Britney created a fashion trend with the school girl outfit that would take the world by storm, just as Madonna had done before her. Queen B with this video helped the boybands of that time bring back the craze of rabid fans; the type of craze we hadn't seen since MJ's Thriller/Bad years, The Beatles, Elvis, etc. of the old. The pigtails, fuzzy ball, and school girl ensemble are EASILY Britney's most identifiable look.
Her music video began an era called "Bubble Gum Pop." An era that brought back the fan craze we seen in the past, forcing the music industry to take notice. Records were SHATTERED and a new standard of what a pop star should be was made. Labels tried to immolate the success that Britney had with the BOMT music video. It hadn't happened! Britney was and still is irreplaceable!
You may have been too young to remember that time, but I remember it VIVIDLY and Britney SHAT ALL OVER the music industry everywhere. BOMT would have been NOTHING without that music video. I'll be damned if the gerls will try it with BOMT, NOT ON MY CLOCK. NO EFFING MA'AM!!! No one can deny the impact and cultural significance BOMT had in the 90's and turn of the century, it gave us a HUGE Pop culture moment that will stay cemented in the record books forever.
