Kinda thinking about the theme behind LOUD since it was brought up earlier.
I believe that if the theme could be summed up in a line, I would take it from Cheers: "Life's too short to be sittin' round miserable." The thematic components of the album derive themselves from the fact that life is a short roller coaster ride. All the facets of it: Love (Skin, What's My Name?), Heartbreak (California King Bed, Love The Way You Lie Pt 2, Fading, Complicated) and even the naughty bits (S&M and OG) need to be taken in with knowing the back of your mind that you are going to die someday. Naturally, we need to say all those things LOUDly and PROUDly. I think that's what Loud is really all about: taking in the facts of life and acting upon them with passion and emotion.

Let's not. GGGB had a concept & it went with every song. Name one song on LOUD that is actually LOUD?

Okay, so I wasn't gonna post this. But I've seen it a lot.
Anytime I see the Battleship trailer on a blog, they're always calling it "Skarsgard and Rihanna's" Battleship. I don't get why they're using Rih's name when she's only in the trailer for a few seconds. I know she's not just an extra, and that she's billed sixth in the cast, but the trailer doesn't reflect that, yet blogs, and even Yahoo! Movies are using Rihanna's name first.

I agree on Loud having far too many ballads to be "LOUD" but you cannot tell me that Only Girl is not the definition of it. S&M as, well. Raining Men, Cheers, WMN, and even Man Down fit the theme, too. Even Complicated is very "loud" for a ballad.

When i think of LOUD i think of anthem - esque songs or huge stadium songs. I agree Only Girl is an example of that. S&M is debatable, as for the rest no. They're either just plain radio hits or LOUD songs literally. (Like Complicated.)

When you listen to GGGB, Rated R and LOUD from start to finish, it really reminds you just how amazing Rihanna really is..

It's good for promotion. Many people are going to watch the movie solely for Rihanna. If they include her name in the title it creates interest because Rihanna is what's hot right now.

I must've forgotten about the critical masterpieces of Shut Up and Drive and the other anthems of GGGB.

Well yeah, but why promote her name and not her scenes?

If by every song you mean the song GGGB, which is basically the only song that went with the GGGB stigma then you're right.
LOUD represents, like Rihanna herself said, an attitude and a sassiness that comes with that attitude and every song on LOUD definitely represents that, please take an infinite amount of seats.
I'm not here for your constant LOUD bashing
BTW Navy, Rihanna's character in Battleship is called Raikes

The blogs frequently mention Rihanna when talking about Battleship, because she's the biggest star in the movie, despite having the least acting experience. The bloggers know that they're likely to get hits from music and Rihanna fans by mentioning her name.
The movie doesn't come out for 10 months. This is not the only trailer, and Rihanna never has been the star of the movie. She's a supporting character. She's not going to get that much shine in the trailer period, especially a far-away teaser like this one. Movies like this focus mostly on the action, anyway, and not the actual stars. Despite how big Rihanna is, she's not the biggest draw to this movie. The CGI and action sequences are, so that's what the producers are highlighting.

This all makes sense. I was never expecting a trailer with all Rihanna, and I knew she wasn't gonna be the lead, so I didn't expect the majority of blogs/movie sites to plaster Rihanna's name all over this as much as they've been doing it. But you're right, she's a star and the blogs are going to showcase that for hits. I do expect more trailers that will have more Rihanna in them, but it makes sense that at this point they just wanted to highlight how big the movie is regarding the CGI and action sequences, as you mentioned.
