Is it sad and a tragic loss of talent? Yes. It is surprising? Hell no.
This is what drugs do, she has had no desire to quit them and when people are addicted to a substance they become tolerant to the drug so they have to up the dose to get a high and there is only so much a body can take. We all saw this coming, I hope she finds peace wherever she is now but she realistically did this to herself, she was self destructive. Think of the innocent people in Norway and gain some perspective. It is sad but it was also inevitable.

This was most definitely evitable, stupid girl. She just didnt have all the support she's getting right now thats she's dead when she was alive. The irony.

I have no sympathy for drug addicts, she did it to herself. And I AM a fan, I love her music and she arguably has the best voice of our generation but I hated the addiction and have no sympathy. People know how dangerous and addictive those drugs are and yet the still take them, they make the decision to start and sadly this is what happens. RIP Amy Winehouse... I'm not surprised, but I'm still very sad about it. I was looking forward to new music from her eventually (though it was starting to look like it'd be a while), but now there's no chance. Unless she's like 2pac and starts releasing album after album posthumously...

Thats a lie, her family, fans and basically the entire British public have been routing for her to overcome it, there were practically parties when she ditched her loser husband. The truth is she loved drugs more than anything else in life, she wanted to be high more than she wanted to sing and more than she wanted to live.
