I have a question:

On the night of the release of Born This Way, Gaga tweeted "My water just broke" with a link to the album on itunes. Seconds later, VEVO tweeted "Ours too, gross" with with a link to a complete playlist to the delux version of BTW on YouTube.

Have other major musicians done this before? or is this something new Gaga is doing?

It seems to me like it would just kill album and single sales when you can just rip an mp3 from youtube. Or maybe their thinking was it's going to be posted anyway, we might as well get the ad money.

What's going on?

Audio ripped from YouTube is 64kbps, which is AWFUL sound quality. So that's why it doesn't hurt them too much.

Well, I have the CD and I also listen to it on Youtube and they sound the same to me (I use sony headphones while listening to both)

I am so picky about sound quality... One day, I just noticed that TEOG (easily top 5 best songs on the album...) was a little more blurry/quiet/unclear than the other tracks. ALSO, someone said that Y&I had not bad, but not good production. PICKY!!! The top notch QUEEN needs top notch producers. All in all, we're talking about LADY GAGA & her sound quality is gonna rape (yes), RAPE all the others in the industry.

I haven't really noticed it on TEOG and maybe it's not just the songs on BTW. For instance "The Queen" and "So Happy I Could Die" sound distorted to me....it's like the base beat is clipping.

Yeah! I love to think her music is FLAWLESS. It's perfect in my opinion & as close as I'll ever find to heavenly. YET, there are some "glitches" that can't really be taken back (until 25th anniversary "Greatest Hits: REMASTERED). On just a normal, casual listen, it'd all be fine. Pure bliss.
