Discussion: What do you have against fem gays?

As I've already stated, I am not attracted to effeminate gays, but that doesn't mean I'm not friends with them or support them. Like damn some of you must have some serious insecurities if you hate fems this much.
The only thing that annoys me is when a guy acts like a stereotypical straight guy, but as soon as he comes out, he starts talking with the gay lisp, shaking his ass when he walks, etc. If you are naturally fem, okay, but don't change just because you think that's how a gay person is supposed to be.

You will feel differently if you are ever hate crimed, and there is no retribution. You will feel differently if you are ever fired for being gay in a state that has no laws protecting you from that.
People fight for our rights for a reason...you have just been lucky enough to not feel that just yet.

I have never said I am against fighting for our rights. I think I'm just too young to think about a future with somebody like that
And I'd never come out at work . it's sad to say it but I'd feel less respected

The thing is, though, it doesn't really bother me. What can I expect of her? If THAT'S the cost of higher public awareness and acceptance, I'm happy to pay.

The reason for this is because the fem gays are the only ones who are KNOWN to be gay because you tell on appearance. If these masc gays want to change the image, they need to live masc and always make sure people know they are dealing with a gay man. Being out, proud, and vocal about it is the only way to change people's minds. Then maybe the public will have a more balanced view of gays...until then, the femmes can handle it the way they always have.

You guys make a point.

I am quite effeminate and honestly to an extent am surprised at the prejudice many users here have of this type of personality. Adding to the fact is how much we all love to use the lingo and gifs when expressing ourselves around the board.

You are making excuses for the small-minded (including yourself apparently) to not let anyone stand out or be an individual. It is the most basic of mindsets and it encourages all of the worst forms of prejudice. HAVE A ****ING SEAT.
|
No sir, YOU GONNA HAVE A ****ING SEAT. HEW on earth told you that a normal gay has to act flamboyant? NO ONE. The last time i cheaked a homosexual is a person who has sexual attraction with the same sex. Now here it come the stereotype that every gay has to act flamboyant, talk and act like a women. And THAT'S wrong.

I just don't understand the hate from the gay community on flamboyant gays.
They take the overwhelming majority, if not ALL, of the heat from society only to then be shunned by their own community. Where are they supposed to turn?

Ah, I understand. I agree, too.
I did NOT agree with your other comment, though.

All this aside, how "masculine" or "feminine" some one acts is all mostly part of the display we put on everyday to the world. It's part of the personality that we want others around us to see. But deep down, beyond labels like "effeminate" and "manly," people are people. I personally would never judge a man simply based on how masculine/feminine he acts in front of everyone.

I mostly like your point of view...as for people that change though...consider that a lot of those people (myself included to a degree) have been suppressing their feminine side for YEARS to stay cloaked in their closet, so when they finally come out, they let it ALL out...and usually overcompensate. Most gays eventually settle into a less extreme version of themselves in time, though.

I know you didn't, as I said, fighting the fight isn't always someone's tea. But coming out to co-workers and family and doing things to advance our rights are ALL of our responsibilities. Just having fun is all of our priorities...it would be good for us all to make time to help out, though. But obvi only do things in your own time when you feel comfortable.

Exactly. That parallels to the assumption that all feminine gays are thoroughbred bottoms while all masculine ones are dominant tops.
Trust me. I've seen some masculine guys that like to be pounded non-stop behind closed doors and vice versa.
