A top member needs to know that not everything can be taken seriously when fellow members talk. They need to know their surroundings and how the people around them socialize with eachother.
Hopefully you will be able to learn that during this competition if you make it in the top 14 or

If you don't understand what they're talking about, how are you going to post? How are you going to be known? How is anyone going to want to vote for you in the game if they can't relate to you?
A top member is someone who deserves that name. You can be a new member, but you still have to understand the basics of ATRL, etc.
Like you can't come in talking all trollish and nooby and saying "Hay guise wots up ^;^ lolz dis syte is so c00l" or something like that. There's terms that lots of ATRLers use, there's rules the site has, there's things that noobs will say that they'll get dragged to the pits for and never want to come back to the site again. You need to build conversations with people and get yourself at least a little bit known and liked as well as know your way around, and know little small things. Of course in the real world you wouldn't really need to care about these things since it's just your voice and all, but there's plenty of differences between just life and the Internet, especially this site where you can say one thing wrong and someone will pounce on you for it, as well as the fact that most of the things that people would say on the Internet is something they'd likely not say outside of it.
To be an ATRL top member, you actually have to know about the site and the people on it. Otherwise you're not going to make it as far.

I have had many conversations with different people on this site, and they always mean what they say. We laugh, but they are never sarcastic to me. And I am actually
well known (not for the right reasons though!). But still, there are many other things I can do to be a Next Top Member than knowing if someone is trickin' me or being serious.

Sarcasm is a form of conversation, and a super small part, but conversation/knowing how ATRLers talk is a decently-important thing on being a top member. Being yourself and keeping the qualities you had during and before the game is a large part and knowing how ATRL works is basically the other half of it.
All my examples and things I mentioned in my last thing weren't exactly going to you.. but if you happen to win and everyone is talking to you, and someone says something sarcastic, it's going to get awkward, or maybe even ugly, when you come back all confused, and/or then sort-of turn angry.
I don't really talk to you much, and sometimes when people have that opinion about someone they will just mention something from the past. It can be a joke, to attempt laughter, or just a random topic that can create further conversation or whatever else.

I understand you. But I know you are very sarcastic to everyone including me, but it's obvious you are sarcastic except about the sex tape thing. I knew you were joking, I just didn't want $CBCOOL$ to be puzzled about anything, and I didn't want him to think that I wanted to do a sextape with him or whatever.
Anyway, I have to pack for my trip because I'm leaving at 4 PM!
