S&M is a sexy chick 2.0 and WMN is still a ester dean/Stargate product no matter the release date they still used the same formula for Keri Hilson & Nicole Schkndkfjjger. Rihanna just released hers first. Every song on LOUD is disposable expect ManDown, CKB , Cheers and Only Girl.

So would you say you're most like Skyler, RatedG, or Disturbia?

Beyonce's album didn't follow the latest "dance" craze. Unlike other people she stuck to artistry showing growth. Instead of giving into the What's "hot" with Mainstream music atm.
Britney's album was entirely produced by Dr.Luke. Enough said.
Christina took a 4 year break from the ENTIRE entertainment industry before coming back into the scene. She didn't do any appearances, interviews or movies etc.
You can't compare that too a year break and it's not like the world isn't going to see Rihanna for a while.. BattleShip is debuting next summer... She can afford a break from the music industry till at least mid 2013.
|
Why are U bringing beyonce's name in this thread? She has nothing to do with this topic whatsoever. We dont care if you feel she has to go to the dance craze because songs on '4' are DISPOSABLE as well.

Even Whats My Name was unique. It started the copy trend - (JLo, Nicole, Keri).
The only true generic tracks on Loud are Fading and Raining Men.
S&M is not generic. It has a similar sound to Sexy Chick BECAUSE they're both club songs.
Theres a difference. Teenage Dream, California Gurls, Seal It With A Kiss, Abracadabra, Tik Tok, The Harold Song, Grow A Pear are all generic because they have the same BEAT AND MELODY.
S&M has a similar beat to Sexy Chick but is a COMPLETELY different song. Loud is really not generic.

Leave him. I dont know what;s gotten into him but true Navy will stick it out. How dare him to call Only Girl and What's My name generic when no one can else could do them but Rihanna. I swear these "fans"

GIRL BYE. Don't go there. Just because i'm anti- LOUD doesn't mean i'm anti Rihanna. You act like this is something new. Don't compare me to those fools.

Whats My Name and Man Down stay true to her dancehall/Caribbean roots, while despite releasing when the dance trend was in full effect, she still stayed true to her ballads, with 4 ballads on an 11 track album.
Raining Men may not be the most innovative, but it definitely wasn't crafted to fit the dance trend. It's one of her most urban recordings. Cheers also sounds like no song I've heard released anytime recently, and still heavily features her Island style.
I think while OG may have a generic beat, she spiced it up by replacing the far-too-common autotuned lyrics with loud belts over the dance beats, something that (at least to my knowledge) isn't, or wasn't, common at all.
|
Thank You. She was laying vocals over a dance beat as if she was singing a ballad rather than relying on auto tune. Idk how he could say the album is generic when the album is entirely Rihanna. I guess he could just go out on a limb and say Rihanna is Generic since it's biting him that much.

I am really enjoying your comments on LOUD, too, TheOnlyOne.
At first I didn't really mind the LOUD V Rated R comparisons, but now its just gone too far. Sure, Rated R is the most artistic album Rihanna has done and it was a great era, but we all need to move on.
Just because we love Rated R, doesn't mean that we have to hate LOUD. As I said before, LOUD is a good album. Its not generic. We should enjoy it while it lasts because once its gone, its gone forever.
We should be excited for the re-release, not despising it. I teared up when I "figured" we were getting an EP. I really don't see why you guys hate LOUD so much.
Who says that the re-release is going to be generic? If it continues LOUD's style, it won't be generic. We don't know what the re-release will contain, so the LOUD haters better sit down NOW.
I am ready to be slayed by the re-release single.

Stop putting word in mouth. Just because it's rushed and it's Rihanna doesn't mean i automatically have to like it. I'm my OWN person and have my OWN opinion.

Did you read his quote? He was comparing Beyonce, Britney's and Xtina's comeback sales to their previous work. Then mentioned Rihanna saying she could have the same fate (possibly being replaced.) if she actually took a break from music. What i was saying was Rihanna can afford to take a break. A.) because she's deserves it. B.) Because she's still going to be doing appearance in the entertainment industry with Battleship coming along. Reading is fundamental. So stop attacking me.

Apparently, Rihanna hasn't shown growth, Loud is generic, and she needs to take a break from the music industry.
Sounds like all things Rihanna haters, and not stans, would say, if you ask me.

Well the subject at hand was about her taking a 6 month to a year break from music not 4 years. And being in movies DOES not mean anything. If anything you were the one throwing jabs for no apparent reason. If u cant get with it, then we dopnt give a ****. If it was anybody else we would have reported u for flamebaiting the very ****ing minute u mentioned "quiet" and started the comparison. Rihanna is NOT Beyonce, Britney or any other bitch you want to bring up if u cant handle it then fine.

Deemy I agree. Jennifer Hudson is about to be the lead in the movie Winnie, and she'll probably get another Oscar, but that wont affect her music sales at all.

I didn't say Rihanna needed to take a 4 year break. I said she should till at least mid 2013 and yes, for the 7478587475478847th time i don't like LOUD and that's just my personal opinion. We all have our least favorite Rihanna album.. That's just happens to be the one. LBOE, MusicTalker, Kh-LOUD, ManDown and even Harry all know this. So you're taking my shade too serious as if i don't support her and want her to succeed. LOUD is just too safe & bland for me. I just want more obvious growth & risk. That's just me.

Whatever Rihanna wants to do shall be done. She can afford to not take breaks, but if she wants one, so be it. I'm not here for more than a year of a break. She could lose some numbers & such if she didn't come back on top of her game.
What on Loud is generic? Only Girl & S&M are not; not everything dance-pop is generic trash. Both have their own flavor that Rihanna gave to them & they are undeniably. We've seen others try to foolishly recreate these songs & fail.
What's My Name? is not either. Like someone else said, it has inspired several knockoffs (I'm Into You, Right There, Lose Control, etc.). LC might be a stretch, but undeniably, Rihanna-inspired. What sounded like WMN? before WMN? Nothing.
Fading isn't generic, but it sounds like other songs Rihanna herself ha's
done before (Take a Bow). But it's not generic to work on your own sound. Cheers is obviously her own, I won't bother explaining. California King Bed is a brand new sound for her & all the current pop girls. You could say it sounds like Big Girls Don't Cry, but if you look technically, the claim is a stretch. Man Down is another one not worth explaining. Actually, most of them aren't worth explaining. Skin is obviously her own.
