Let me just start out by saying this is a MUST see show. Seriously everything about the show was great. The dancers, the stage, Katy, everything. But now I guess I'll get into more detail.
Walking into Quicken Loans Arena not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised. All the merchandise that was offered was great (I bought an E.T. glow in the dark shirt, the tour shirt, and a glow stick with cotton candy on it). I entered and the stage was great.
1.) Preshow with Marina and the Diamonds was okay but her music was not really a good start to the show and honestly I was disappointed by the preshow as a whole. The only problem with the night. The band was okay but it was a bit odd and I could not understand a lot of Marina's singing. She had a great voice though just the music was not my thing and it bored me fast.
Dj Skeet Skeet was not bad at all just remixing a lot of songs such as Till The World Ends, Tik Tok, Give Me Everything Tonight and a few songs he made himself. It was a good warm up before Katy
2.) The start of Katy's show was really awesome. It started out with a video with a story about Katy working in an evil butcher's shop where she was not happy at all and so she left. She then goes to a shop wanting a cupcake and she has barely any money so she buys a small one and then the story goes on to when she is home and continues showing her dreaming with Kitty Purry wishing things were different. She then has a dream in which she loses Kitty Purry and she goes into a land of candy in search of him and then this is where Teenage Dream came on in an explosive start to the show. It was a great start and everybody was singing along.
3.) Second on the list was Hummingbird Heartbeat. She really did a great job with this song. Mostly the performance just involved dancing between her and the dancers and it was just another great performance.
4.) Waking Up In Vegas started with Katy asking the crowd who is with their best friend tonight. and then a slot machine came out and I seriously thought she called it a **** machine. And right after I thought it shes like you are a **** too ha. Katy's personality really showed the entire show and it made everyone laugh. And then she asked if the crowd wanted to see a trick and she pulled the arm and the song starts with the sound of coins falling. The performance included many things you see in vegas such as magicians and other things of sorts and Katy running around with the slot machine and just singing and doing crazy things. When it finished Katy ran backstage in hope of finding coins the machine stole (for a costume change)
5.) A new movie part showed Katy searching for Kitty Purry still and she runs into mimes who mess with her and the show goes into Ur So Gay. the performance for this one involved the mimes dancing around Katy the entire time and her mimicking what the lyrics say basically.
6.) Next came Peacock and what an amazing performance between the Dancer's and Katy. The outfits were amazing as well and Katy really got into as well as the crowd. She was being dirty on stage acting as if she was performing fellatio when she said the pea **** **** **** part.
7.) The next song is where my dream almost came true. Katy came out asking for a lucky boy and I screamed ME so loud my whole area was startled and Katy looked at me for a minute and I thought it was gonna be me but then she turned a bit away and chose someone else and they had to take off their shirt. I wouldve done it if chosen my seats were so close
My dream almost came true. She kissed him too. But then she asked for girls and said this song is for you and went into I kissed a girl which involved a performance mostly of her dancing around and two girls also dancing around and in the end they cover eachother and look as if they kiss.
8.) Next the whole theme of the show changed. The mimes basically fed Katy a drugged Brownie she wanted to try and she lost it. She goes into a new world and the meat from the butcher takes over and she goes into Circle The Drain which involves her coming out in a cat suit and theres pills and the evil butches face everywhere. The performance included her mostly just walking around and singing the song.
9.) E.T. was next and this was a huge one with the crowd. It involed the lyrics video on the screen and lots of lights everywhere and basically Katy singing again and just walking around.
10.) Now this is where things slowed down A LOT. She went into Who Am I Living For which involved a performance of dancers that keep attempting to tie her down with ropes basically and a lot of dancing goes with it and in the end they tie her down.
11.) Next she goes into Pearl where she breaks free and puts on a jacket with Shimmering jewels all over it and she swings for a bit and then in the end goes on a pedestal which rises into the air really high.
12.) She goes into a romantic mood for this one saying its for the lovers and she sings the song really beautifully perched on a swing.
13.) Next the curtain closed and she got more personal with everyone. She basically explains she likes watching performances as well as performing.
and then she did Only Girl, Big Pimpin, Whip My Hair, and she said went into a really depressing mood talking about how everyone gets depressed and such and shes like people give me a lot of **** for singing this song but **** them and she sang Friday by Rebecca Black
I love Katy.
14.) She went onto a floating cloud next going back and forth and she sang Thinking of You and basically everyone sang along that knew it and she dedicated it too the fans.
15,) Hot n Cold was one of my favorite performances next and before this performance she had a video in which she finally woke up and found Kitty Purry and read a note saying in order to find the truth she had to wear the blue wig or something like that. She then went on to have a performance where she ran around a lot and ran through a wardrobe and kept changing very quickly. The performance was really Amazing.
16.) Next was Last Friday Night but before hand she changed wardrobes and the dancers were introduced doing their own version when their name went up. The Last Friday Night performance was really amazing with a slideshow of peoples party pics. I submitted one but it wasnt in the slideshow
But regardless I sang along happy as ever.
17.) Katy came on next talking about July fourth and how she spent it in Ohio with us and talked about the fireworks and then went on to have the performance which was my favorite by FAR. Real fireworks were used and waterfalls of fireworks and lots of dancing. By far best performance.
18.) Next was the cover of I Wanna Dance With Somebody where she invited random people on stage and they all danced and her cover was really great. Then the curtain closed and the story finished her dream and basically sent her home and the bakery shop boy who gave her the cupcake showed up and she was happy and all.
19.) She came back out to perform California Gurls in her hershey kiss bikini and again stellar performance with dancing from the music video a lot.
Overall the performances were amazing, Vocals were SPOT ON. Good plotline and Katy was very personable with the crowd and really sweet. She really is amazing and may I say this is a MUST SEE show. She is beautiful and tops any artist easy.
