BTW is not a concept album ??? It has songs all about loving yourself + female empowerment + gay marriage + teasing goverment and of course some casual stuff.
If BTW is not a concept album/ album with a theme, then what is it ?

It's Americano, I can sense it.
It's extremely catchy, summery and fun. The potential video has Telephone continuation written all over, which in itself could generate a lot of hype, the Telephone video had a lot of interest and she could really cash in on that.
Then after that, Marry The Night for Winter (perfect for Christmas), Hair for the new year, You & I for Spring and Sheisse for next summer.
You will all deal.

In music, a concept album is an album that is "unified by a theme, which can be instrumental, compositional, narrative, or lyrical". This is in contrast to the practice of an artist or group releasing an album consisting of a number of unconnected (lyrically or otherwise) songs performed by the artist.
|
You said it yourself - its songs have many different topics. Concept albums are about one thing.
The Fame was a concept album, for example. BTW is not.

Finally someone see eyes to eyes with me. I don't want her to lose control over her creativity and being forced to release generic songs to top the chart. LOL

Don't get wrong I love You And I but it's next single it's will not definitely not do well. It's sounds so dated and it will NOT get a lot of support from mainstream radio.
On the other hand, Schiesse will break new barriers of pop on US radio. It sounds like a summer song, it's not like anything on the radio. INSTANT POP HIT!

But maybe she'll end up releasing 'The Queen'

The thing I am happiest with is that MTN is pretty much guaranteed single status. She wouldn't been stupid enough to ignore it.

Americano is my favourite track off the album, although it is a risky choice for a single. But then again there is nothing else like it out there atm.
And I totally agree with MTN being released near Christmas.

I don't get it why you're arguing with me about this. BTW is definitely revolve around a theme- which is be yourself.
That's why you have BTW, Hair, Americano, Scheisse, GH, The Queen, Bad Kids, Judas (she explained it, go search yourself)
You don't expect a concept album to have all 13-17 songs about same thing. If that's the case, you'll fail hard.
The Fame is not about a single theme too. You have all kind of songs about all kind of topics.
The closest album to your definition of concept album will be TFM, but the meaning of those songs are made up last minute by GaGa...

I said before, I need her to have chart success, as much as possible, not only because I love it, but because once she loses the success, she will be not relevance anymore, and her label won't allow her to release album such as BTW again. Do you guys want another THE FAME ? or BORN THIS WAY ??
Look at Avril. Concept album flopped now the label want her to release Pop-oriented album. You want this kind of situation? Monsters ?
|
lmaoooo, when was the last time madonna had a hit? gaga will easily be relevant for the next ten years because of us, her huge-ass fanbase. all you care about is her relevance? smh.

|
which is why alejandro and judas were released? no, they were released because gaga wanted them to be released.

her album has already sold well. like i said, it can sell 9 copies next week and it's already a success. sales mean nothing to me, tbh.

Couldn't you argue that every song on BTW is about love/self-love, thus making it a concept album?

The songs about being yourself are BTW, Hair and Bad Kids.
Americano is political and so is GH, partly.
Scheisse is a female empowerment song, it's not about being yourself - of course you're yourself if you're a woman.
The Queen and MTN are both personal to Gaga.
Judas is not about being yourself regardless of the explanation she came up with which is probably ridiculous.
BTW is definitely not a concept album, unlike TF, where every song was either about ****ing or being famous - or ****ing while being famous.
