Considering during the era it came out where DANCE music wasn't all the way dominating and VARIETY was still topping Billboard & the radio. I'd have to disagree. GGGB was ahead of it's time, COHESIVE and edgy. Critics agree.
Who said Loud didn't have variety? It has more variety than most of the other pop girl's albums. Only 2 of the 11 tracks are dancepop, so she wasn't merely just doing what everyone else was doing. GGGB is no more ahead of its time than Loud is.

The difference is GGGB is an cohesive album. Anyone could put a bunch of random all over the places singles into an "album" and have variety.

GGGB didn't have reggae influences like LOUD does and GGGB still managed to be cohesive. LOUD is an all over the places mess. Even critics agree.
