I don't think anything is really going wrong. 30M copies was probably foolish; this album is far less accessible than The Fame (Monster). As I said when it first leaked, the initial listens of the album give the impression of a relentless assault on the ears. That doesn't mean the album is bad. I think it's fantastic and a step up from her previous work, but it is less accessible and that's that. She has shown great longevity in the past, and I hope she manages to pull through in the same sense with this album. I'm not going to worry yet because we have an excellent hit on our hands and six more planned singles. I just hope to god she can get some publicity with her future videos. I would really like a Tarantino video and a Francis Lawrence video at some point.

I don't think they need a re-release at all around the holidays. They can release Marry The Night and find some means of getting some outrageous publicity. Plus, if she releases her Jazz standards album, that will help her album sales in every regard.
I don't think a re-release next year would be a bad idea, though, assuming it's not a poor creative decision for her (which I could see it being).

You know you've made it when you have the 2nd Best Selling album of the year/4th Best Selling Single (so far)
& there are still people saying that you're a flop.

I WILL cut a bitch if they don't have Francis lined up to direct the next one already.

It's not a flop, that's just foolishness. But it CAN be justifiably seen as a disappointment in light of its hype/huge opening if it just flounders from here

I need to understand something. I mean, all of you who complain about the album`s run so far always speak about the videos. Of course, the videos this era are not as good as they were in the past. But, how important is the video nowardays? I personally don`t know a lot of people that see videos and find quite amusing that someone decides to buy a song bcause of a video. Either you like the song or not. Can someone help me with this?

I know it hasn't exactly met the sky high expectations...
But by reading some of your posts you'd think it hadn't even hit Platinum yet

She's in desperate need of her next single to smash hard, for her weekly album sales to go up and stabilize. But honestly, there aren't many obvious smashes left on the album to begin with so I don't see that happening. We all saw what happened to Judas and I was sure it would smash harder than most of her singles.

Videos are where she has left her deepest mark. BR was the most significant pop music video in years, if not the entire decade. This is what makes the TEOG offense all the greater for me.

GaGa seriously set the standard high for not only others but herself as well.

Everyone should just give things time to develop. Marry The Night is the song that is going to sell her albums to the dance crowd, assuming any songs on her album will. So just sit back and wait a bit. I still think The Edge Of Glory is a very good idea. Hopefully, at some point in the future, You and I will gain exposure and perhaps the combination of TEOG and Y&I will convince some people outside of her fanbase to buy it.

Why do you all concentrate most about the US sales? Her WW sales are ********.

This isn't really a surprise. Such a colossal and polarizing reputation is bound to have this effect. We saw almost exactly the same thing happen to Taylor Swift just months before, but she is such an album colossus that she managed to sell over 3 million before her album sales fell off a cliff.
The fact is, I think Taylor and Gaga are both fairing well and have a lot left in them this era.

But, shouldn`t we be judging her for the music as well? I feel like, noone cares about GaGa`s music, only for what she does with it(ex: videos, performances). I think for the first time we are having the opportunity to see GaGa only for her music, and amazing music for that matter and people are dissapointed. I mean, i want more music ans less image if it`s necessary for her to keep giving me Hair`s, Sheisse`s, Highway Unicorn`s...

Am I the only one not feeling Marry The Night at all? I'm not so sure it would be a wise choice but then again, what do I know? We've been spoiled big time previously with the success of her singles but I can't help but wonder how it would have been now if she'd let Joseph Kahn do that video for The Edge Of Glory, and if Judas had worked out.
