Aside from crushing the album sales of the others, she's sold over 34 million singles, is in the top 10 list of social media presences, has ~500 million YouTube views, is one of the most searched people in the world on Google and is the third most searched person in the United States behind only Bieber and Gaga.
Everyone in the United States knows her whether they like her or not, and just because she's not a flamboyant presence in the media doesn't mean that she's not constantly in the headlines.
Nothing against old people, but Madonna and Britney are too old. Plus, Britney is mentally unstable. I'd take Madonna over her and anyone else on this list, rather. The only talented people on here are Gaga + Beyonce + Shakira + Robyn, the rest are industry puppets, and Adele looks like Miss Piggy.
I'm sure you would not publish "Introducing the King of Pop" because, under exactly the same criteria addressed by this list, the results would lead to Justin Bieber taking the crown and that would make you look like an outright fool.
There was a time when it was relevant and worthwhile to read Rolling Stone.
I gotta admit that Lady Gaga is so hot right now.
Though calling her "The Queen of Pop" maybe is a little early.
We should probably give artists their respective titles after 5 - 10 years that their in the biz.
Doesn't mean the artist ain't so hot right, we should disregarded what they did in the past.

Well, hailing Gaga the Queen of Pop isn't necessarily a stretch since she has been consistently ******** nonstop. I feel that title is interchangeable anyway.
Aside from Bey, Brit, & Madonna, that damn list is a mess.
