RITD will probably reach 5x Platinum by the end of the year. 6x Platinum is possible in the long run if it holds up for months and months due to recurrent airplay and other factors.

1. ADELE - Rolling In the Deep 170000 + 167000 = 337000
2. Pitbull - Give Me Everything (featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) 187000 + 140000 = 327000
3. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (featuring Lauren Bennett & GoonRock) 212000 + 100000 = 312000
4. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) 226000 + 65000 = 291000
5. Nicki Minaj - Super Bass 169000 + 82000 = 251000
6. Lady GaGa - The Edge of Glory 149000 + 90000 = 239000
7. Katy Perry - E.T. (featuring Kanye West) 100000-105000 + 120000 = 220000-225000
8. Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger (featuring Christina Aguilera) 213000 + 1000 = 214000
9. Jason Aldean - Dirt Road Anthem (featuring Ludacris) 141000 + 49000 = 190000
10 or 11. Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song 105000-110000 + 79000 = 184000-189000
10 or 11. Lil Wayne - How to Love 130000 + 54000 = 184000

If Pitbull doesn't get it this week, it's over for him.

Or it could reach 5X platinum before it leaves the Top 10, & reach 6X platinum by the end of the year.
I'll pray for Dynamite-type longetivity.

I don't think #2 is out of the question, though.

I remember questioning whether RITD would ever reach the Top 10 on the Hot 100.
From questioning Top 10 on the Hot 100... to questioning whether it will become one of the Top 10 digital-songs of all time.

I hope whatever Adele's next single is (there still seems to be some confusion) scans at least 2x Platinum. It'd be hard to top that RITD juggernaut.
As for Pitbull, yeah, if he doesn't get it this week, then it's pretty much over for him. He'd fall right into the bunch of artists who got extremely close to #1 but was stopped by multiple songs. I do think he will get it this week, though.
LMFAO going #1 is just But whatever. I just do not understand how this song is becoming so huge compared to their songs that didn't scrape the top 50 on Billboard. They are all similar, IMO.
