And set a record of being the youngest person to get 10 #1's in the shortest amount of time. That Rihanna reign just won't let up!

Rihanna is getting really good with live performances lately, I honestly think she would be able to pull it off. Have you seen the LYTWYLP2 performances from Ukraine and the LOUD Tour? Rihanna hits some pretty high notes in them.

No, I'm understanding.
Do y'all want her to release every damn song on the album?
Man Down isn't over yet, and it's almost July. July, then August, then September, then October, then November.
Nicki is releasing Fly in September. That leaves July and August for Rihanna to tour and start recording new music for the RihRelease. Then in October, she can release one of the new songs she recorded. And November can be the release of the the rihrelease.
|
All this talk of the rih-release makes me so damn excited!! I like the idea of only leaving a month between the lead single and the rih-release, as its not an entirely new album. But am I the only person who thinks having to wait from September to November last year for Only Girl to LOUD was too long? Probably just me being impatient, haha.

I have a feeling that ckb might get the boot and md will be released for pop stations...if this is the case then perfect
I mean there is a difference between a risky release for a single and a stupid one
ckb was released following three huge airplay pop smash songs. The fact that it was released to basically pop formats only was foolish IMO because the main demographic that listens to pop radio has probably already made the decision as to whether or not they will buy rihanna's album...or they just won't appreciate a ballad (let's face it, majority of pop (aside from adele's slaying) is the dance clubby records). Instead of focusing on that 10th number one (which i'm happy that she got) by doing a remix with brit, they should've been happy with the way s&m was performing and maybe focused on a potential remix with sugarland that they could've released to country formats and maybe got some AI. And now that they sent out the goon rock remix, it just shows that all "risk" has been thrown away as the song has been turned into a more uptempo, poppy song. If CKB was going to turn out this way, they might as well had released Complicated (which i love but has no single potential IMO).
and while md isn't doing amazingly either, it's showing potential (a lot more than ckb...the itunes sales will inevitably follow an AI increase)
...my rant ends here

This isn't directed to just you, but seriously, some of you Man Down supporters are so delusional that it's really making it hard to come in here lately.
You do realize that Man Down has nearly double the radio support CKB has, yet it still is NOT selling. More people are exposed to Man Down every day, yet it still is floundering in and out of the lower depths of the iTunes Top 100. Please stop letting your personal preference towards MD cloud your judgement.
I really feel like half of ya'll are seeing different charts than I am sometimes. Seriously.

well...I agree that the sales aren't there but I think majority of her digital downloads come from the demographic that listens to pop...and if md was released to a pop format, we could see some sales increasing.
TBH, both MD and CKB were mess decisions and the dual release should never have happened, I'm just stating the most optimized possibility given the circumstances. I wish she'd **** em both and do Cheers right now shoot a vid quickly and have it out in time for summer, but we all know that won't happen.
It's a good thing a re-release is coming b.c this would be a rather tragic way to end an era after 3 smash hits (at least in the states, ckb is doing well elsewhere as is md in some locations without promo)

I have a strong feeling that she will release Cheers to end this era ! But Man Down and CKB are better than Cheers . If they are flopping , Can Cheers be a hit?

well Cheers & Fading both would do better than Man Down & CKB.
Okay CKB is one of my fav. but it is a ballad. CKB is a fall song. Cold weathers is perfect for CKB but not summer. Cheers & Fading could be good for this summer. Especially Cheers

Fading is good but it doesn't have a potential to be a hit . Man Down is the best single choice for summer but it's just not happennig

This is where You Get Stumped. Pop Audiences BUY singles. Urban only singles dont fair well on iTunes and even though some might do, Rihanna's main audience is pop. They are the ones who buy her songs and im sure 80% of her fanbase dont listen to urban radio. The fact of the matter is, Man Down is a better single than CKB ever will be. CKB while a good song lacks everything that man Down has at this point. It has, better commercial appeal, catchier, stronger hook and it's authentic rihanna. Have u noticed her reggae leaning songs ALWAYS smash on Pop radios? Because that's her niche. Once it gets Pop airplay I have no doubt in my mind that it will fly up iTunes.

I agree with you on some points, but I also disagree on some things. First, her reggae LEANING songs smash. The key word is leaning. Man down is almost pure reggae, which will not do well on Pop radio. Whats my name, Rude Boy, and Pon De Peplay had alot of pop appeal and were dance songs. While Man Down is a masterpiece it is meant to be an Urban Single or not a single at all. CKB is the better commercial single. The itunes position is incredibly high for it's AI. If they want to release another song before the 1st re-release single it should be Fading. It appeals to urban and Pop. I think after they are done with LOUDR they should close with Cheers.

CKB is the right single honestly. Though Cheers should have been first and CKB in the 4th quarter of 2011

You people are crazy!!
My god.....
Stop trying to abandon one song, or suggest ideas for where Man Down should go and blah blah blah.
We've been handed certain cards, now get to requesting on CKB as much as possible.
have ANY of you read the comments on CKB video? Almost EVERY one says "I LOVE THIS SONG!" "CANT STOP LISTENING TO IT!" "OLD RIHANNA IS BACK! YES!" "UGH! CANT STOP PLAYING THIS SONG!" okay so clearly the song is a hit. It's got what? 15 or 16 mil audience, yet 33 million views?
and let's not forget when Man Down was doing bad on Urban and you all just gave up saying "Man down was a horrible idea for a single"....and now it's flying up urban, doing good on rythmic and i've even heard it on a pop station yesterday.
Focus on requesting CKB for pop and HAC. until it loses spins and a massive audience, I'm not giving up, and neither should you. Just cause you all wanted Cheers for the summer or fading doesn't mean you have to give up on what you have. Just FOCUS! I already requested 200 times today for CKB and I'm gonna keep requesting more!!!!!!!!!!
Don't bitch out navy! :tomcat:

Man Down sounds the most like a J. Lo song, so I think it would do the best tbh.
