Beyonce is an R&B crossover artist, so her main audience is urban listeners. The problem here is that she hasn't ignited any fire with the urban community. "Run The World" flopped and "Best Thing I Never Had" is looking to stall there as well. As much as I love Beyonce and defend her when needed to, it's obvious this is on the verge of being her worst era. This is the first time she is going into the album release without a hit. To say that she isn't in trouble is just being delusional. She will have decent to strong opening week sales, but I'm not sure if it's going to sustain without at least an urban hit on her hands. It's sad because 4 is a good album.

Well B'Day didn't have a hit until Irreplaceable, something after the album release, but I do agree that this isn't her best era .
"Deja Vu" went to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was a #1 hit on the R&B charts. "Ring The Alarm" was also a #1 R&B Hit. So while those songs weren't smash hits like the ones from DIL, they still had decent chart success, especially compared to the ones from this era. "Best Thing I Never Had" was supposed to be the "Irreplaceable" of this era, but I don't see it at all.

My girl Kelly Clarkson stood her ground and made an album she wanted to make with "My December". It was a commercial success but it was a damn good album and a turning point for her career.

Beyonce didn't want to record other songs because she is a true artist, not some product like some people who pop out albums like a girl from the ghetto named 'esha' pops out babies.

I'm not denying that Beyonce won't release a song that ignites fire with the public, but as of now, things aren't looking too good. She will need to release that hit song as soon as she's done with BTINH.
