I'm mainly trying to point out that the public + critical reception of The Edge Of Glory seems to be much better than Judas, both with respect to the song and video. The difference is that her fans here seem to love Judas and hate TEOG MV, thus deeming critical opinion of TEOG MV irrelevant.
From a technical standpoint, critiques seem to focus on the same weakness in both MV: camerawork. I don't think the concept of the TEOG video is bad. Her primary problem has definitely been the camerawork. I don't really understand why her fans think a video can't be good without a large, convoluted storyline or multiple costume changes.
At any rate, if there was ever a song of hers that warranted a video of her dancing around and being happy, it's The Edge Of Glory, so I'm fine with her doing it this time. If she manages to hire a director for her next video, only for us to find out later that it's directed by Haus of Gaga, someone will need to step in.
