It was a response to a question about Britney's tour sales.
Enough said.

you're so pressed.
it's hilarious.
when you have somebody on IGNORE, you function without them in your life.
you ALWAYS quote my ignored posts.
what's the point of having me on ignored if you still can't stop thinking about me?
Cahleb got your tongue tied in knots, i see!

But I honestly feel that in the long run, the public wasn't feeling the song. It's quite terrible for a lead single from Britney Spears to only go Platinum, and is now sitting at the near bottom of the iTunes 1000. I don't regret it being a single though, it is amazing & I honestly couldn't see it just being an album track.

I feel like we could have seen at least around a 9-12 week run in the Top ten if things went as planned. It probably wouldn't have had digital numbers like Womanizer, but it had much more potential. At least "TTWE" made up for it.

I think the fact that Hold It Against Me was released in January killed all of its potential. It only sold 411k in its first week because of the fans' anticipation. If it were released around.. say, August or September, it would have easily sold 500k first week and had longevity. It could have EASILY scored 3x Platinum. The song is incredible, the video is fantastic, its very radio-friendly, what else was missing? I think even if the video had been released 2 weeks after the single - do you really think it would have helped it that much?
I Wanna Go's release date is PERFECT. It's summer, it's a summer smash AND the sales are much higher than they were for HIAM and TTWE's times.
By the end of the year, I predict TTWE to have sold 2.5+ million, IWG 2-3 million, HIAM 1.3 million.
This era is EPIC no matter what anyone says. Britney's 6th #1 album. I still can't believe it. And you guys realize this will be the first time EVER Britney scores 4 top 10 hits?

But, what's your explanation for the months? You're just saying "oh if it were released", but no deets. I don't think the month had anything to do with it. Radio was playing the song, it was being bought. Went Platinum in 7 weeks, which is about the same time frame as her other Platinum singles. The lack of promotion & drive following the release is what killed it. There was all that hype leading up 1.11.11, then after the week ended, it's like the era ended for 2 months.
It's also already sold 1.4 million, so by 2012? I'd say 1.6-1.7 million. The tour might give it some random boosts (like it was Top 400 this past week, now back down to 600s-).

The song definitely wasn't well received by the public though, it sold and peaked only on the hype Britney's name gets. That's why I'm happy it was the 1st single, it would have been a disaster flop if released any other way. I'm sure people will be saying it should have been way bigger two years from now - Just like what happened to the iconic "I'm A Slave 4 U".

I was just basking in "Slave" last night. It's so quirky and odd for it's time, and even today. "HIAM" will certainly join it.

Hip roll? Or you mean the belly dancing? Why?

You know the bit where she puts her arms in the air then shakes her hip.... On circus tour she didn't put much effort into that move so I hope she does now. I know its only tinyy but I like it.

If they tape this concert, I pray they don't **** it up like they did with the Onyx Hotel Tour, the one they aired on TV was TERRIBLE.
Wide shots where you could barely see her, camera's panning to everywhere BUT Britney, and that stupid "glossy print" on the sides of the video. Terrible......

Understandably your expectations are lowered, as we all should just live up to it now, but it seems we can expect a little more than what was on The Circus Tour.
