I don't get why people messure success in terms of album sales and not just in terms of 'sales'... i mean, music is music... when 4 million people is buying your song, that means they're buying Katy Perry's music. And 5 hit singles is almost half of her album.... so selling 4 million copies with 5 singles is succesful as well as selling 2 million albums... plus she has sold 1.5 million copies of TD (the album).
I know albums are more expensive and selling millions is impressive... but there are lot of albums that sold millions and people forget about them in 5 years... like Norah Jones first albums, maybe other album sold less copies but they have HUGE hits that people will remember forever.
So, it's not a fact that Albums > Singles.
It depends on the album and the single we're talking about.
lol @ right when it seems as if Give me everything is about to hit #1 on itunes, TGIF comes flying in like no other
It's going to take a while. Pitbull's selling over 200K per week, and still has over 100 million audience impressions more than LFN, so he can secure that #1 on the Hot 100 as long as Rolling In The Deep falls faster.
