You're making it seem like she's being extra braggy... The quote isn't even all that arrogant. She's said numerous times in the IASF era that she wants to try something different and wants to be an icon- not just a pop star. She feels that working non-stop for 15 years has allowed her the right to take some more risks.

& just about every pop star says that they want to make songs different from radio & not be same-y.
