It should re-peak this week anyway, although another airing of the performance should help it rise further.
It isn't so much that everyone buys physical singles; much like in the US and in the UK, digital downloads dominate the market. However, regarding the Media Control Charts (official charts in Germany), there is a different weighting for different types of single based on a points system:
1 digital download = 1 point
1 CD single = 2.3 points
1 CD maxi single = 4.2 points.
So if Gaga sells 20.000 downloads, she has 20.000 points. But if another artist sells 15.000 downloads, 2.000 CD singles and 1.000 CD maxi singles, they have a lower total than Gaga (18.000) but more points (23.800), so they chart above her. It's one of the reasons that the physical market is stronger in Germany; there is more of an incentive to advertise it.
Also, Germany chart rules state that a download-only song can only debut on the chart with the permission of the record label, but if a song has a CD single it
must chart. However, TEOG won't have that problem as it has already been granted permission to chart.
