The performance is OKAY. But i prefer the AI one. I cant find a relationship between money, vanity with TEOG .. is that what her video gonna show about ?? Normally, she will have performances associate with music video .. eg Telephone on music station, Bad romance on X factor, LoveGame on Muchmusic, Paparazzi on VMA, Alejandro on AI too ..

Good point. It happens to the best of the best too.
Nicole is pretty spot-on about why KISS isn't playing her, at least IMO. But at the same time, I don't want LG to quit doing weird things and playing with boundaries. I don't want her to be like Katy Perry, who gives everyone everything they want and never takes any risks, never disrupts the status quo, etc. She needs to find some kind of balance. IDK how she'll do that because every thing about her is extreme and polarized.

Radio will play the songs they get good listener feedback on, even if they hesitate at first for whatever reason (See: J.Lo being old and kind of a has-been, hence OTF taking a long time to take off on radio despite great sales from the start. In the end it took off, though).
BTW and Judas (especially) were just not that well received by the general public. By all signs it seems like TEOG is being well received. If anything radio is its greatest asset at this point. It saw the second fastest rise to the Top 10 on pop out of all her singles after the anomalous case of BTW which got there in lightning speed.

I thought the interviewer on Red! was very good with Gaga.

BTW sped to #1 on hype alone. TEOG is, in my opinion, more of an example of a song doing well on merit over hype.

I agree. She shouldn't change just to have more commercial success like some people suggest (Nicole? ). We can see that some other artists have a lot of #1s and single sales, but still aren't THAT revelant and their music won't be really remembered IMO in few years.
Gaga is changing the industry in her manner. I wouldn't want BTW (album) to be filled with basic dance tracks just to make it attractive to buy. I'm so proud of Gaga of putting this record out with so many risky songs. If she can make it work, like she's on the edge of doing with TEOG, she'll gain so much more respect.
I still think she should have more balance in showing her raw talent like recently with the TEOG performances and her love for weirdness and fashion.

I still remember how angry my radio station was about playing it every hour on the hour. They went on this big rant the day that song came out about how it was a let-down and a rip-off. Once they got ahold of the Express Yourself train, it was such a mess. But people were calling in all day saying they better play that new Lady Gaga song because they hadn't heard it yet.

Exactly. I mean BTW was a case of automatic power rotation based on the status of the star alone. That does happen. I don't think the converse tends to be true, though.

Honestly, I see Gaga's career following in the footsteps of Marilyn Manson's. Some albums will go number 1, some will bomb. Some songs will be successful, some won't. Some shocks will truly shock, some won't. (except, Gaga will obviously be more successful than MM) It's going to be a roller coaster.

Germany popbars haven't been updated in a while. I don't think they'll properly update until the morning. Excited to see what happens tomorrow.
I think tonight was a truly great performance. There were no over-the-top theatrics, her vocals were flawless and she had the right balance of movement. There weren't too many dancers on the stage and the guillotines were a nice touch to make it all a bit more interesting. The Born This Way acoustic was well done - not too long and a good way to lead in to the major performance of The Edge of Glory. To top it all off, the lines of Scheiße at the start made it seem almost personal to the fact that she was performing in Germany.

It's refreshing to see someone doing what they want instead of pandering to the general public, but she does NEED balance because she is first and foremost a commercial artist. Sales should still be a top priority. She's more powerful than anyone else at the moment, she's obviously doing something right. She's just making some mistakes in the process.
And I agree with your last statement. Today was perfect.

And for the record, I'm a big fan of basic dance songs from other artists, but not for Lady Gaga. I don't want her to go there (Party Rock Ahthem, Give Me Everything, etc). Even Just Dance and Poker Face are far from being basic dance tracks to me, but maybe that's just me.
Lady Gaga is better with non-generic songs. Telephone was probably her most generic song and IMO it's one of her less revelant single (even with that killer music video)

And I don't care how shallow this sounds, but most important of all she looked pretty
The cat eye makeup doing wonders.

Rolling In the Deep could be #1 for another 3-4 weeks, & Give Me Everything will probably go #1 after, to then be released by LFN possibly. There's just too much competition.

I loved the dress and it went really well with the wig
In addition she looked really happy I think you could tell that she has rested since GMA, because her vocals were much stronger than, for example, on American Idol. She seemed to be able to put more into her performance and it paid off.

While she'll never be a beauty queen, it's nice to remind people once in a while that she can look pretty.

I agree that RITD has another 3-4 weeks, but I think if Pitbull doesn't get #1 in the next 2 weeks, it'll be too late. His sales should surely drop and Gaga will have her video out and her airplay will have climbed to 70-80M AI by then. To be honest, I don't get the hype around LFN. I don't think it should be considered a BBHot100 #1 contender anytime soon. I say give the song time to actually develop before assuming it'll go to #1. TEOG has a good shot at #1 because it is getting good radio support and, with the release of the video, good promotion.
