In order for her to perform well on the charts, people would have to like the music/have a positive response. I mean, seriously? Do you guys think the world only likes electropop or singers who dance around on a stage? Really, there is so much different tastes out there.

That really wound me up too, I had a tirade about it on that thread before. I still like her music and will support it but I have definitely lost a lot of respect for her as an individual...

Nope, sorry. I liked Rolling In The Deep the first time I heard it, grew to love it (oddly enough) when I saw the music video. Plus, the first line of the song always nets a lot of likes on my Facebook status, so it makes me popular. There's a good reason for me to hate the song right now (because it's blocking Pitbull from #1) but I don't because I still love the song. Perhaps it's because I'm not pressed?

I'm sure that's the case for a song that stays on the chart for 1wk. But to remain for ages, people just buy into the hype.

I just think some of this comes off as sour grapes because one's favorite isn't smashing as hard as they should. I remember people were doing it to GaGa, and that's why she has remained successful.

That's not the intention behind the post at all. I am genuinely tired of her music. Too much hype about a (imo) mediocre song.
