yes but without Kanye people wouldn't hear the song on the radio that much and it would not have such big sales. I'm not trying to downgrade katy's huge singles success in any way but it's much easier to make a pop song a hit by featuring a rapper

what you said is not true. why would people buy something they already have? of course alejandro sold but it barely got to 2 million. it was a huge hit, it could have sold 3m+ if everyone didn't already have it with the fame monster

Only die hard fans will buy a single version when they already have an album. I have the album, and there is no way I'm gonna buy the upcoming singles, lathough I love GaGa, and she's my girl...
