Of course album sales will drop, she can't spend every week at 215k, but I don't think it'll be a disastrous drop. She will promote the album and help sales stabilise. Remember - Adele wouldn't have such monstrous sales if it wasn't for her promo at the Brits and Comic Relief, plus the Mother's Day appeal. Rihanna opened with 91k but climbed to over 200k for one week over Christmas after the correct promotion!

Interscope has already shipped 2,100,000 copies, so it's already eligible for 2x Platinum.

its obvious neither fame sales nor 21 sales can be beaten becoz both these albums sold because the artists were relative new to people and also due to word of mouth but born this way should get a decent 6XPLATINUM to be called a worthy post-fame-successor

Well, remember that TF got to 1M before the re-release and 2.6M after it... I think if she got to around 1.5-1.6M that would be amazing. I'd be delighted with anything over 1M by the end of the year, though. She can still sell next year, remember, and this era will last for a while yet! I bet she'll be nominated at the Brits next year and will perform and everything. Keep the faith, guys

The teas GaGa has been spilling on her last interviews are making some gurl crazy in this forum
They were amazing reads tough, the Rolling Stone interview and Popjustice
Brazil
Now, GaGa has to come to Brazil and make 60.000 people concerts

Audience impressions, in millions. Basically, the number of people that listened to the song in one week. So from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th May, 38.017million people listened to TEOG on the radio

And for that matter, we need not compare BTW to 21 in US too. The ideal comparison for it is either Taylor's Speak Now or Eminem's Recovery. Both these albums are by well established artists. I'd have the target of 3.4m sales by the end of the year. Forget adele...

"Audience Impressions"
How many millions of people are estimated to have heard the song based on the population of the radio stations that played it.
This is where the points come from for Billboard. In other words, 38 million AI is 38 points for billboard.

It's useless to even try to predict final sales right now. We don't even know with which numbers it will open. Let's see how it holds up the next couple of weeks and then we can make a decent prediction.

Only a good choice of singles will make it!
We really need TEOG video to make it blow up! There is something I don't understand in terms of the way Lady GaGa's way of promoting singles: there are always almost three weeks or one month (if not more) between the debut of the single on radios and shows, and the actual video!
So you don't have that massive debut other singles have by combining videos and performances! By the time we have the video for TEOG, I'm sure it will be at the bottom of the top ITunes...
It's a bit of a shame cauz TEOG would have been to N°1 straight with the video + Idol, SNL and GMA!
But that's just my opinion...
|
Well, there's no way that GaGa would have been able to beat Adele this week. So its better that the video is released when the radio audience is peaking, increasing her chances at that number one.

I hope you're right! I really want her to go to N°1, what she deserved with Judas btw...

By the way, i think it`s safe to say TEOG is going to become the WW single. they have added on Brazil radio stations... and Judas was still pretty big. However, it kind on underperformed because Born This Way was still big.

There is no real good reason from them to release a second single for WW purposes because TEOG has sufficient selling power.
