Stop the madness. Robyn has that on lock sis.
Back to the "big guns"
Nicki Minaj
Probably the hardest hit by the combining of Rap Group and Rap Solo. As it stands now, Nicki is THE lock for Best New Artist - but she's not going to win.
So what else happens with her?
I think she'll probably be nominated twice in Rap Performance - once for Moment 4 Life, and once for ... Monster. I think we all collectively forgot that this song was eligible THIS year. Yeah, if Kanye's team submits it - it's in.
She'll also get Rap Album and probably Rap/Sung for something (maybe Fly?)
So, 3-5 nominations total.

Lady Gaga
As I stated before, Judas is a dead fish. Let it die, and don't submit it anywhere. Push Born This Way and the Edge of Glory to Dance and Pop, respectively, and then take a page out of the Bey 08-09 playbook and divide them for the big three; BTW to Record of the Year and TEOG to Song of the Year.
Now the problem becomes - where do you submit the album? Does she want to win this year, or continue to get nominated next year? If it's the former, push it in Dance/Electronic Album; the latter, send it to Pop Vocal and take the loss when Adele mollywhops her competition. I vote for the latter, because You and I SCREAMS Pop Vocal nominee/winner.
In summation:
Album of the Year, Born This Way
Song of the Year, The Edge of Glory
Record of the Year, Born This Way
Pop Vocal Album/Dance/Electronic Album, Born This Way
Pop Solo Performance, The Edge of Glory
Dance Recording, Born This Way
6 nominations in total - 1-2 wins (both in the Dance field.)

I agree with this.

|
I think we'll have to see where it gets submitted? Pop Group, even combined, is WEAK this year. Only two songs that qualify have been BIG so far (three if you count THE RIHMIX). It's easy pickings to get a nod, and I can't see how she'll won't make it.
P.S. Gwen went to Rap/Sung with Rich Girl PRECISELY because of who was on it - she and Eve already had history in the Rap field with Let Me Blow Ya Mind. Gwen didn't submit Luxurious to Rap/Sung, did she?

Her label is dumb. They submitted Circus to AOTY but didn't place it in any smaller album categories. Plus, they placed "3" in Pop Vocal Performance, Female.

I know she isn't going to win lol because Robyn will be there too.
Anyways Britney's label probably is going to submit Femme Fatale to Pop Album. I think they never have submitted any of her albums to Dance. Blackout was submitted to Pop and Circus wasn't even submitted for Pop or Dance.

Can "The Rihmix" actually get submitted? . I hope they keep that mess on the shelf, where it belongs

. If they submitted 3 and Gimme More to Dance, they both would have had a chance. Blackout could have been submitted to Dance/Electronic, it would have won EASILY

I left one out of the Nicki writeup - where will Super Bass go? Last year, the Rap field proved they don't like Pop Nicki when they gave a swift "thanks, but no thanks" to Your Love.
I think she'd be better off following M.I.A.'s lead and submitting it to either Dance Recording or Pop Solo. Won't get in, but won't be a brutal refusal like it would if (and when) the Rap field rejected it.

I want another Ray LaMontagne nominee. That **** shocked me, but when I listened to that song, I understood why they picked that. That song is actually good.

Her label will still try, though, and seeing as how they didn't do the smart thing and issue a remix with a country star, California King Bed will be submitted to Pop Solo Performance. What's My Name is a surefire sub to Rap/Sung, and a sure bet for a nomination.
Here's where things get tricky. What to do with a song called S&M? Months ago, I would have said it was an easy submission and possible win in Dance Recording, but then the Rihmix premiered. Let's ignore it's quality (or lack thereof) for a second - I think Island Def Jam should take advantage of the fact that no groups besides BEP have had hits this cycle, and submit it to Pop Group Perfomance. Why not take the risk? Submit Man Down to R&B Performance - little to no chance for a nomination, but that's the only logical place it could be submitted (it's not reggae enough for the World categories.) Her dance submission this year should be Who's That Chick.
In summation:
Album of the Year: Loud
Record of the Year: What's My Name
Pop Vocal Album: Loud
Pop Solo Performance: California King Bed
Pop Group Performance: S&M the Rihmix
Dance Recording: Who's that Chick
Rap/Sung Collaboration: What's My Name, All of the Lights, Fly
2 nominations, no wins.

I dont agree with this sis

Death Jam knew the y screwed her over last year with Rated R ignoring R&B when she could have easily gotten some nods and a possible win with the absence of Alicia and Beyonce.
I see them going to R&B this year.
Loud - R&B Album
What's My Name? - Best Rap/Sung
S&M - Best Dance recording. Def Jam will use Britney for the #1 but not for the Grammys
California King Bed - Pop Solo Performance
Man Down - R&B Performance
What's My Name - Song Of the Year
Man Down - Record Of the Year
7 submissions 1- 3 nominations. Wins N/A at the moment.
but even w/o a win as long as she gets nominated Imma be glad because the Grammys are like the Oscars now plus she already has 4. She wont pull a Diana Ross. pride*insert the rest* can deal.

Taylor Swift
There's no need in crying over spilled milk ... but let me do it anyway.
Okay, so Taylor's receiving something far worse than a backlash - ambivalence. She won't be getting many nominations this year, so it's important that her label submits her correctly so she can get at least two.
Two would be good, right? It's not EIGHT, but that won't ever happen again.
How do they do this? Make Mean the ONLY single submitted to Country. It's currently heating up at Country Radio, and could very well net her Solo Performance and Song nominations. Send all her other singles to Pop Solo.
Album of the Year: Speak Now
Record of the Year: Mean; Back to December
Song of the Year: Mean; Back to December
Pop Solo Performance: Back to December: The Story of Us
Country Album: Speak Now
Country Solo Performance: Mean
Country Song: Mean
1-4 nominations, 0 wins.

NO Rihanna album will EVER be submitted to R&B - ESPECIALLY since both R&B categories have been combined into one. Not going to happen.
And no one's submitting Man Down anywhere in the Big Three. Not on this planet.

Nicki will submit like this. YMCMB is a basic ass label.
Did It On Em - Best Rap performance
Pink Friday - best Rap Album
Best Rap Song - Moment 4 Life
Best Rap/Sung - Fly
best new Artist
5 submissions 1-3 nods.
Will she win any? Nope.

If she releases Enchanted, I'd say that will get nominated for Song of The Year instead

Her label would be so stupid to place "Loud" in R&B Album. She will not get in over all those soul and contemporary R&B artists.

This is def jam u are talking about. the label that submitted Rude boy for Best female pop vocal. i can read them. The only thing Im unsure of is best Pop Solo Performance. I can see them placing S&M instead of CKB because they are only here for hits.
If it were me I would go pop album because i think she has a shot there. the only other 2 female acts that will get nominated if submitted are Gaga and Adele. bruno will get in so the other 2 are up for grabs. Loud is a big success for her so i can see her getting in. R&B is a dead ass fiels. no usher, no Alicia this year so its gonna be beyonce + 4 spaceholders. Rihanna can get in. her chances of getting into R&B is greater than Pop.

With her starpower and if she wins the EBT Award for best Female R&B this year, trust me its a done deal.
The other options will be
4, F.A.M.E, I Remember Me, Loud and the Marsha Ambrosius CD OR R.Kelly - Love Letter.
Cee Lo green will go to pop Album and will surely get in so no hopes for Rihanan in pop Album. I hope Def Jam is reading this because Im about to blow up their twitter.
